WARNING: BLOOD, INJURY

"No. No way." I shook my head and pushed the cup away from Spencer. I was already starting to gag, without even seeing the blood. "I can't do it that way."

"It's the only way, Y/n," he tried to convince me. I gave him a slight glare and crossed my arms. At first he seemed confused, but once I turned my head I heard him sigh. "Okay maybe it's not. But who told you?"

"Forest.." I whispered. He let out a chuckle, but I kept my head faced away from him. After a few moments like that, Spencer's hand gently grabbed my chin and forced me to look at him.

"It's not that I wouldn't love to have sec with you again, okay?" he spoke in a calm voice. I only looked back at him. "I'd take any chance for that."

"Then why? You don't want kids or something?" I didn't know how mean that sounded until he glanced down. I quickly uncrossed my arms and took his hand in mine. "I'm sorry, Spence. I just really don't like blood."

"No, I need to tell you something." He looked up and I could tell there was hurt in his eyes. I bit the inside of my cheek and was now extremely worried. "The reason I don't want to turn you like that is.."

"You don't have to tell me!" I exclaimed quietly, grabbing one of his hands. He smiled and gently rubbed his thumb against the back of my hand. "I'd do whatever for you, Spencer."

"Haha, thank you Y/n, but you need to know," he paused and looked at our hands, tangling his fingers with mine, "I'm not a full blooded demon." I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.

"My dad, well, he led a double life too. He wasn't famous or anything, he was just a construction worker. He met my mom one day when she came out to complain about the noise. Apparently he couldn't take his eyes off of her. So he decided to go back to her house and ask her on a date. One date led to another and soon my dad didn't want to live in the demon realm anymore. Even though he was a pure demon, his powers let him shape shift. Soon they got married and, well, they had sex. But he didn't tell my mom. So once I was big enough to be considered a baby, my mom turned. She got super mad at my dad but soon understood because he was the heir to the throne. My mom decided to fake her death to live with my dad as Queen." Spencer told me the story with a straight face, glancing down from time to time. "The birth was bad. I was small and fragile. They said I almost didn't make it. My mom also told me that turning was horrible. She said there was so much pain, she couldn't stand it. She thought the baby was hurt. And I don't want you to go through that."

I didn't notice I was biting my lip that hard until I tasted blood. That never bothered me, only the sight of it. I released my lip and licked it before I spoke up, "You didn't have to tell me that."

"I needed to. I didn't want you to be upset with me," he spoke quietly this time.

"You only needed to tell me that you didn't want to turn me that way. But thank you, so much, for telling me Spencer," I thanked. He smiled and I moved closer to him, engulfing him in a hug. "But doing the blood way will work? Even if you aren't a full blooded demon?"

"My mom said it would. We have to drink it at the same time. You mine and mine yours. She said the process would start in a few minutes. From what I've witnessed, it's painful, but not as bad. And I'm going to be right here with you. But the more we wait, the more the castle is in panic."

"Will they accept me once I'm a demon?"

"They will have to." I nodded and pulled away from him, looking at the two red solo cups sitting on my nightstand. I gulped and looked at him.
