warning: dead bodies, mention of suicide

It had been a while since Spencer and I went ghost hunting. More importantly, its been a while since we've been that close. He went around America on a tour and just now got back home. I asked if he wanted to meet up at a geoguesser location. He agreed and I loaded one up, sending him the location as well. I was currently driving to the location, it being almost pitch black.

I finally arrived and parked the car. I saw another car sitting there with it's lights off but the car running. I texted Spencer asking if it was him and luckily, it was. We both got out and I slipped my hoodie on, meeting him by the drivers side door. "I'm glad you're back," I said with a smile.

"Me too," he responded. I gave him a small hug before we started walking. It was a while down a trail until we came to the exact location. "You go left I'll go right?"

"Yell 'dinosaur' for help," I told him. We both nodded and went on our way. I slowly walked towards the left, shining my camera around the trees. Fun part — they were all dead. None of the other trees around this patch are dead. Something must be going on here.

I went to the edge of the dead trees and shined my light through the covered forest. I shook my head and turned around, slowly starting to walk back. It seemed like nothing was here. Until I found Spencer, his flashlight shaking in his hand. From where I was, I could already see it. Multiple dead bodies, hanging from the tree. Some looked recent and some were already decomposing.

They were all hung by their necks. This wasn't like a serial killer, there was no recognizable pattern, and they normally have one. While we were both watching, something snapped. It was the head of one of the bodies. The body fell to the ground with a loud thump. "S- Spencer.." He was frozen. Until we heard a blood curtailing scream. I grabbed his arm and started running back to our cars.

I could see mine, but it wasn't normal. My car had been flipped upside down and looked crushed. I stopped and stared at it. "Get in my car!" Spencer yelled to me. I didn't want to leave my car but at this point, there was no way to get it out of here. I stayed in one spot until I was jerked back. I screamed but my mouth was covered. I felt myself being thrown into a car and Spender quickly got in the drivers seat, starting the car and revving it to speed away.

I didn't notice the pain at first, but when we got onto the main road where there were other cars, it hit me. I let out a scream which caused Spencer to jump. I held my arm close to my chest and took off my hoodie. There was a huge bruise and blood escaping a wound. "Shit, I'm sorry Y/n!" Spencer said with a worried voice. I was trying to be strong. I held my hoodie over the wound and applied pressure.

"Just go to your house. I don't need a hospital."

And here we sat in Spencer's bathroom. My arm had hit something in the car. After cleaning the blood, the open wound wasn't bad. Spencer took a bandaid and put it over it. But he then took an ace bandage wrap and wrapped my arm tightly to help. I sighed and hopped off the sink, looking at him. "That was a bad idea."

"I agree," he sighed. "You can sleep in the guest bedroom. I'm not taking you home after what just happened." I nodded and followed him out of the bathroom. I already knew where the guest bed was, so I made my way there and looked around. I ended up finding an old shirt of his and I swapped it with my bloody shirt and hoodie.

I sat down on the bed after turning the lights off, being too tired to do anything else. But as I laid down, insomnia started to kick. I had to hold my eyes closed, but every time I did, all that came through was those dead bodies. Especially the body that was decapitated.

After a little more laying there, I got up. I slowly opened the door and tiptoed to Spencer's room. The door was cracked, so I looked in to see if he was asleep. I couldn't tell, so I opened the door wider and walked in.

I gently climbed in the other side of the bed and tried to stay close to the edge. To my shock, he was awake, "Couldn't sleep either?" I jumped slightly and sighed, shaking my head,

"No."

"Well come here. No point in sleeping on the edge," Spencer spoke. I slowly moved closer, but he wrapped his arm around my stomach and pulled me into him. I let out a small yelp which caused a chuckle to come from behind me.

I tried to fight the urge to snuggle into him, but his body was warm and I felt like I was freezing. Fighting it didn't work, so I gave in. I pushed myself farther into Spencer, which he wasn't expecting. "Just... cuddle me.." I whispered. His hand hesitantly moved from on top of his leg to my side and then stomach.

I smiled at the sensation and felt my eyes get heavy. Spencer's hand pushed up the shirt slightly so that his hand was now touching my skin. It made me shiver but I enjoyed it.

We laid there for a few minutes in silence before I spoke up, "When we went to that building.." I trailed off and sighed, "Did you only get a boner because of how close we were?"

It was silent for a few minutes. "Well, my body naturally did part of it. The other part.." He chuckled. "I can't believe you can't tell I like you." My eyes shot open wide and I turned to look at his face. He had the biggest shit-eating grin.

"I mean- I thought-" I tried to speak but nothing came out.

"I kissed you because you needed to shut up, and I kissed you because I wanted to. Not hard to put the pieces together," he spoke huskily. I rolled my eyes and turned back on my side so I was the small spoon again. Spencer shuffled and I felt a kiss to my temple, my cheek, jaw, and my neck. I smiled as he lingered at my neck but soon pulled away.

"I think I like you too."

"You think?" Spencer scoffed playfully.

"Yeaaaah.."
