Third Person

It never should have ended up like this. Not on the floor of her church, at least.

Three Weeks Ago

Spencer walked through the halls, his fingers around the knife he held in between his jacket and shirt. It was quiet, no one was around. It was strange. No nurses or doctors, just the noises of beeping machines. If there were anyone there, Spencer didn't notice. He was focused on the task at hand.

He checked both ways before walking into the room. Spencer slowly shut the door behind him and walked over to the bed. He stared down at the man laying in the bed. There were tubes and cords coming from all over the bed into parts of the body that you'd never know needed it.

He looked around once again before pulling out the knife. Spencer inhaled, getting ready to kill. He was used to this — of course his girlfriend would give him occasional orders. This was one. Spencer slowly unplugged all the machines and made sure the man would die from the knife. Spencer shoved it in and pulled it out, blood squirting from the wound. He grabbed a little bottle from his pocket and dripped the blood into it, securing it closed and looking around.

Spencer wiped the knife off and made sure none of his prints were at the scene, wearing gloves when unplugging everything. He washed the knife off in the sink and shoved it back inside his jacket. He took the gloves off after reopening the door, slowly walking away. He walked off of the floor and through the rest of the hospital, it being a little too quiet.

Spencer found his car and got in, sitting in the drivers seat. He looked at the wheel while pulling out the blood from his pocket, handing it to the woman sitting in the passenger seat. She took it and opened it, sniffing it. "Good job," she said with a smile, leaning over and pressing a kiss to the murderer's cheek. Spencer smiled and looked to his girlfriend, kissing her lips this time.

When he pulled away, he buckled and left the hospital. They continued until they were home and went inside. The woman quickly went to the upstairs guest bedroom and began her work. Spencer took his shoes off and returned the knife to the sink, continuing upstairs to meet his girlfriend. "Y/n?" Spencer asked. The girl with fiery red eyes looked to him with a smile. Spencer walked over and stood behind her, putting his hands on her waist.

He looked at the book open to show the language of tongues. He had learned a few words like blood, tongue, and eye. Y/n could read this fluently — she was raised in tongues before learning the other languages. "Is it working?"

The woman shook her head with a sigh, "Nothing works, Spencer. I'm never going to be able to go out in public." Spencer kissed the top of her head and turned her around. He put his hands on her shoulders and looked over her gorgeous body. The red skin covered by clothes that turned him on so much. The fangs in her mouth and the sharp nails on her hands. The split tongue and the tail pushing from out of her shorts. The beautiful black withered wings that were almost pure bone that she lay across her back and hide under a shirt.

"I'm willing to kill everyone on this planet for you, Y/n. I'd kill god for you," Spencer said in a whisper. Y/n nodded and pulled him in for a hug, the two embracing in front of the alter. What they didn't realize was the light that shone from the book. What was that light? It must've meant nothing.

Present Time

Y/n held her hands up, even if she was stronger than everyone there. Spencer was surrounded by a swat team, guns pointed at mainly him. A few were pointed at the woman, but they were trembling. Y/n had taken Spencer to her church — the church of her father, the Devil. Y/n thought she'd never get found here with Spencer. They were only here to speak with her dad.

"Please, I'll do anything," Y/n said while getting pushed away from the scene. She caught eyes with her boyfriend. All that Spencer felt was guilt. Guilt for not being able to help his girlfriend before he got caught.

"Lets go, lady!" one of the cops shouted. Y/n began to walk away until she heard the guns go off. She jerked her head towards where it came from. Spencer wobbled to his knees and then onto the floor.

"You said it was a gun!" an officer shouted. Y/n let go of her morals and ran to Spencer. He held a withered rose in his hand that had just come out of his jacket. The officers around them didn't know what to do.

Y/n sobbed, "No.. Spencer.. Please wake up.." She shook the body that lay lifeless. Tears fell from her eyes as whimpers left her lips. This was the only man who ever fell in love with her, and now he was no longer.

Y/n felt anger build up in her before she let out a blood curtailing scream. It felt like slow motion. The officers all went in different directions in the building, shoving pews back and hitting walls. Y/n was arched over the dead body. What she didn't realize was her skin slowly morphing back to her beautiful normal skin color.

As she dragged out her scream, balling her hands into fists next to her boyfriend, her black wings suddenly changed. A burst of light followed by white feathers. They were everywhere — but their main location was on her back. The shirt she wore was now ripped, the beautiful white wings fluffed up in the air.

Her fangs sunk back in and her nails looked trimmed. She was finally back to normal, but not how she wanted to be. After the scream, Y/n breathed heavily while sniffling, trying to process everything that just happened. Officer's bodies were mutilated, blood all over the church.

Y/n slowly stroked Spencer's cheek before noticing her skin. This only made her eyes well even more. She sobbed as she slowly closed his eyes. She leaned in once more and kissed his forehead, closing her eyes.

"I will see you in another life. Thank you, Spencer. You are my everything.."
