* note: haven't seen Halloween Kills, just go with it

I stood outside the movie theatre waiting. My friends were supposed to be here thirty minutes ago. Here I stood, in a skirt and turtle neck, fishnets and platforms, waiting. It was almost fifteen minutes before the movie was starting when I got a text saying they couldn't make it. Four of them, all saying they couldn't make it?

Well, they were lying. I checked their private Snap stories and saw that they ditched. I sighed and shook my head, walking into the cinema. I warmed up by rubbing my hands on my arms as it was a chilly night. I decided to go through the ticket line.

"What movie?" the cashier asked me with a smile.

"Halloween Kills." I told him. He pulled up the seating on the screen and I chose where I wanted to sit; in the back.

"That'll be ten dollars and twenty-nine cents," he said back. I opened my hand bag and searched through it. I couldn't find my card anywhere, and that's when it hit me — my friends were supposed to be buying the ticket for me.

"Shit I uh.. don't have the money," I said quietly, looking up. "That's fine, I'm sorry for wasting your-"

"I'll get it," I heard a voice next to me say. "And a ticket for me too, next to her seat." I looked over and saw a man just a few inches taller than me. He smiled and handed the cashier his credit card. Once he paid and he grabbed the tickets, he motioned me to follow him.

"You didn't have to do that," I spoke, looking down.

"Meh, I wanted to." He took a sip of his drink and walked towards the theatre rooms. I decided to follow, kind of still dumbfounded that he just paid for my ticket. That was, until I saw a tattoo on his shoulder.

I caught up to him. "Hah, you know, you don't have to brag about being rich." He looked over, a confused look spreading across his face. "I know who you are."

"Ah," he said and laughed. "I knew I should have covered the tattoo. Fan?"

I shook my head, "My dad listen's to you guys all the time. I like your music, just not as big of a fan as he is." The frontman of the band nodded and handed his drink out to me. I shook my head and pushed it back towards him slightly.

"So, you're here alone, with no money. That's strange," he spoke up as we walked into the dark theatre. I scoffed and waited until we walked to our seats to say anything else. He looked over after sitting down.

"My friends ditched. They said they'd get the ticket for me since I just paid my bills. Forgot I didn't have any money and forgot my card. Was just gonna return home until you stepped up." The singer looked at me while I told my story and he nodded.

"Well, I'll keep you company. The bandmates of mine are all at home from a long day of recording, but it's the last night in theaters and I decided to come see it." I nodded in response and turned to the screen, seeing the lights dim and the movie start.

I stood and stretched when the credits rolled. "That was good!" I said, looking at the man sitting next to me. He nodded and picked up his now empty drink. I walked out first with him following. "Gotta go to the bathroom?" I asked, sounding like a mom. My face flushed when I realized what I asked and he bursted into laughter.

"We just met and you already want to take me to the bathroom?" he said through laughs. I stood there with my arms crossed and a glare. I turned and started walking to the exit. "Wait! It was a joke! Hahaa!"

I shook my head and continued walking, until he caught up with me and put his arm around my shoulder. I looked at him and he was smiling. "Fine, I forgive you," I sassed towards him. He removed his arm and opened the door for me. I hummed as a 'thanks' and proceeded out the door.

Once I was outside, the cold wind hit me and I shivered. "Jeez it's fucking cold," I spoke, seemingly to myself, but that wasn't the case. The vocalist walked in front of me and held out his leather jacket he was carrying the whole time.

"Here, you can give this to your dad," he spoke and winked. I couldn't help but laugh again. I put it on, it fitting perfectly, and we walked out into the parking lot. I held my arms around my stomach and shivered. I walked towards my car and he followed. "So, do you wanna exchange numbers?"

I turned to him with a slight raised eyebrow. "You wanna call my dad now?" I joked. He chuckled like we had been all night and he shook his head,

"Nah, it sounds like you need better friends though." He reach into his back pocket of the jeans he had on and pulled out his phone, unlocking it and handing it to me. I hesitated but put my number in. "Movie girl?" he questioned the name when he took the phone back. "C'mon, what's your name?"

"Y/n," I told him. He nodded and sent me a text. It showed up on me phone and I saw it, shoving my phone in my pocket. "But we both should get home. And thanks for buying me the ticket, and offering to share your drink."

"Sure, it feels good to help someone. If you ever wanna see another movie, hit me up. I'll bring my card," he said with another cute wink of his left eye. "And maybe start listening to our music."

He turned and walked towards his car. "See ya soon!" I yelled and hopped into my car. I smiled and made him a contact before driving home.

Later that night, I got a text from the man I met at the movie theaters,

make it home safe?

I smiled and clicked on the notification, thinking of what to send back.

Yeah, you?

I awaited his response.

I hope so. but it's time for a loooong nap.

You mean sleep?

nap ;)

I laughed and got up to turn my light off, crawling into bed and plugging my phone in. I stared at the message for a few moments before finally responding,

Thank you, Spencer <3
