I stand in the council room, watching the meeting worried. Balin and Dain got an idea that they want to take back the kingdom of Moria. Thorin look stressed and I feel that too, I just have a bad felling about this whole thing. I think the feeling has something to do with the story that Balin told about Thorin, the story how he became Thorin Oakenshield.
"Balin, why do you want to go back there, we have a home already" Thorin says, this reminds me of the night in Bagend when Balin said nearly the same thing to Thorin. "Balin, what is the orcs are still there in the same numbers than before or worse more than last time" I try to reason with the dwarf.
"I know both of those things but I still want to see the halls of Durin and reclaim them" Balin says looking at both of us. I am just glad that Thurid, Tori, Lia, Frerin and Gimli aren't here, they would want to follow Balin into Moria. I look at Thorin, we both know that most likely this isn't going to end well.
After a while of talking more Thorin finally gives in to Balin and Dain. Dain will give Balin a small army of his men from the Ironhills and many dwarves of Erebor are going to follow him all the way to Moria. The whole company is here in this room. Dain, Balin and Thorin agreed that they are going to leave this evening.
"I am going with them" Lord Floi says. He just want's to have the wealth and fame if this will go well. After all these years I can't stand him, he annoys me sometimes even more than Thranduil. "We will go too" I hear a familiar voice. No, I think as I feel tears gather in my eyes. Oin and Ori step out. "I will document this journey and Oin will come as an healer" Ori explains making me even more against this

Later that evening I am standing outside the front gate of Erebor. I made Thurid and Tori stay inside, I know how much Ori means to both of them and I don't want them to say goodbye like this. Oin, Balin and Ori said goodbye to them inside.
"Durin be with you brother" Gloin and Dwalin say to Oin and Balin. They both hug their brothers. "Look after yourself, Ori. Stay safe" Dori says already crying while holding his little brother in his arms. Nori joins their hug. In a few minutes everyone is hugging each other saying goodbyes and tell them how much they mean to them.
"Balin, please be safe and do not let the battles cloud your common sense. I will miss you my friend" I say to the white haired dwarf tears running down my face. I hug him and Balin says "I will, take care of Thorin and Dwalin for me". I nod before letting go of him. "Oin, be safe too. I will miss you so much. Thank you for being there for me" I say remembering his help with my children.
"You are welcome, lass. I will miss you too" Oin says as we hug. Lastly I walk over to Ori, I have always seen him as my little brother. "Ori, stay safe and don't hurt yourself, I will miss you so much. I promise to continue your work in documenting the events here" I say now fully crying. I can feel Ori's tears on my shoulder. "I miss you too, Y/N. And thank you" he whispers trough his tears.
I watch as they leave the mountain and start walking toward Dale. I feel Thorin pull me into his arms. "I have a bad feeling about this Thorin" I say, tears still running down my face. "I know, I have that feeling too" Thorin says pulling me even closer. We watch sadly after the dwarves leave and we both have a feeling that we won't see most of them ever again but there is always hope.

I can't believe it, my brother is turning 111 today. He invited me and and the rest of the company to celebrate his birthday. It's nice to be back in the Shire but I have a feeling that this could be my last time, I am already 91 years old and my traveling days will be over in a few years.
