once scaramouche had taken his leave, the four of you rushed to kazuha, who seemed to be in deep thought.
"it worked!" tomo exclaimed joyfully. "it's too early to celebrate," heizou added, prompting a frown from his ashy haired friend.
"heizou is right. we still need to remain cautious," kazuha shifted his focus back to you guys. though, tomo was only happy that scaramouche hadn't taken any violent actions.
you sighed in relief, at least it was somewhat over now.
embarrassingly enough, you didn't notice that you were still holding hands with cyno, to which kazuha noticed. "you don't need to continue pretending now," he pointed out.
his eyes were more so fixed on cyno rather than you. "oh," cyno quickly let go of your hand, "i forgot to let go, my bad."
you stood there absent-mindedly as the others watched the two of you.
"anyway! now that's it over, let's head back to the café," tomo suggested, with you all nodding in response.
as the others took their leave, you waited for kazuha, who seemed to be lost in his thoughts again.
"you good?" you asked him, snapping the male back to reality. "oh uh yes, thank you."
"then let's go back in the café and i'll treat you. i'm sure beidou won't mind if you take a quick break," you told him with a small smile.
kazuha hummed. "i'd appreciate that," he replied, returning your smile.
the two of you then walked back inside, grabbing a seat at one of the tables near the windows.
tomo and cyno had been sitting at one of the tables near the counter, where heizou was.
you assumed that they had been waiting for cyno's friend to arrive, tighnari. since that's what cyno had told you previously.
"so," you shifted your focus back to the platinum headed man next to you. "it's a relief that this is all over now."
"indeed."
you placed your chin on the palm of your hand as you looked out the window. "you don't need to keep fighting with heizou and i don't need to pretend date cyno anymore. i'm glad things have settled down."
he hummed once more, his mind still wandering to who knows where.
you remained quiet afterwards, noticing that kazuha didn't seem to be paying attention.
