kazuha, heizou, gorou and kokomi had been gone for awhile now.
you decided to look around for itto and sara as they had previously told you that they'd stay a bit longer.
while wandering around the hallways, you noticed the two sitting on one of the benches near the windows. thoma and yoimiya had been there as well.
as you walked towards their direction, you could practically feel the melancholy in the atmosphere.
you took in a deep breath, then decided to go greet them. sara and yoimiya noticed you right away, while itto had his gaze dropped, with thoma comforting him.
the two ladies quickly made their way to you. "how's your arm?" sara asked first.
though you didn't respond as your attention was on itto. and once sara realized, she exhaled dismally. "he hasn't said a thing ever since we found out."
hearing her words, you averted your gaze from him and pursed your lips.
yoimiya placed her hand on your shoulder, "it must be hard for you too."
"it doesn't matter how hard it is for me. he's gone forever now," you scorned, not realizing how hostile it sounded.
both yoimiya and sara flashed you bewildered looks, to which you rubbed your forehead at. "sorry, i didn't mean that."
the blonde frowned, grabbing your uninjured hand and bringing it closer to her. "we all miss him, y/n. tomo was like family to us. he even reminded me a lot of my own older brother. i understand your pain."
you could no longer hold back tears. no matter what you told yourself, nothing could make his death any less painful.
you pulled yoimiya into a side hug, "i'm so sorry."
she returned the hug with a bitter smile plastered on her face. "don't be."
"if only i had done something sooner. maybe he could've been saved."
"that's not true y/n," sara piped in, "you were shot too, did you forget? you did everything you could."
yoimiya nodded at her words, as you tightened the hug. "i keep seeing him getting shot. it won't stop replaying in my head."
sara joined in on the hug as well, wrapping an arm around your other side. the three of you remained standing there in the cold silence.
until, you heard someone else approaching your group. as you each turned around to take a look, you were surprised to see kokomi.
