The night after Carmen's near death experience was awful, not just for Carmen herself, who was kept up all night by nightmares and had to sleep in the adults' tent, but for everyone else, especially Elektra. All the girls were sharing a tent; Tee, Lily and Sapphire were cosied up in one corner whilst Elektra's was in another and Nova not too far from her. There was space between the red haired girl and the blue haired girl, the gap between them big enough for another person to comfortably lie in between them, yet for Elektra the gap felt too small. She could hear Nova's soft and steady breathing and the sound was keeping her awake. For Nova, however, the gap was too large. It felt as if there was a deep, churning river between them, the current of which was drowning Nova's thoughts out and making it impossible to process on the girls' almost kiss. Instead of Carmen dangling on that bridge, Nova felt as if it had been herself hanging there, and that Elektra had let her fall. Nova lay there in that tent, turned on her side towards Elektra, wondering if whatever they had between them was over already or only just beginning. When sleep did finally overtake Nova's body, it wasn't long until she was woken up again by Gina, telling them breakfast was ready.
Once everyone had packed up and the tents had been put away in a sombre almost-silence, the morning had passed and Tracy was passing around sandwiches on the bus ride back to Elm Tree House. Elektra had been exiled to the front of the minibus, and Nova had wanted to sit next to her, but the glare Elle gave her when she tried made her rethink he decision and sit behind her instead. Close to Frank and Liam, Nova had an earful of drama and gossip and banter from the two boys the whole way back, despite no one else really being in the mood. The moment the minibus pulled up to the Dumping Ground couldn't have been sooner in Elektra's opinion. Once the front door was open Elektra went straight to her room, closing herself off from everyone. Carmen had done near enough the same thing, instead dragging Tee along with her, so she wasn't alone. Liam, sensing Nova was a little unsure of herself, grabbed her by the hand and dragged her into the games room for a round of pool.
"Come on, Supernova, no reason to dwell on things you can't change. I bet you a fiver I'll win." Liam says cheerfully, his signature smirk adorning his face. Nova felt herself willingly letting Liam distract her from everything going on. Perhaps she should follow Elektra's lead and pretend nothing had ever happened between them? For now, though, Nova's concentration was on winning a fiver from Liam. "You're on, Leo." She replied, smirking just as playfully at him and grabbing the pool cue, "I'll even let you go first." she smiles, stepping back so Liam could break. He does so magnificently, almost potting a few of the balls on his first go. Nova rolls her eyes at his cocky smile and steps up to the table, angles her cue just so, and just as she went to take her shot, Johnny came up behind her stealthily and pretended to sneeze obnoxiously loud, scaring Nova and causing her to mess up her shot. "You bastard!" She exclaimed, turning around to Johnny just in time to miss the white ball being potted, giving Liam an extra go. Johnny just raised his hands in surrender, acting as if he didn't know what he'd done. The coy smile on his face as he made eye contact with Liam betrayed his acting skills. "I can't help it if I need to sneeze!" he argued, as Liam laughed. "Yeah, Nova, stop blaming the poor boy for your bad pool skills" He added, taking his shot and of course potting a striped ball. "Urgh, you boys are infuriating!" Nova exclaimed, her arms flapping around helplessly, to which the boys just laughed.
