When new girl Nova Parks is moved to The Dumping Ground, she makes quite an impact on the whole house, especially 'bad-girl wannabe' Elektra Perkins.

Nova and Elektra were sat on the sofa, having just discussed Liam's romantic endeavours (of which Nova was sure were fictional) when Carmen ran into the lounge boasting that she had some fantastic news.
"Spit it out then." Elektra said, rolling her eyes at Carmen's preppy manner. "You gotta come to the kitchen, quick." she told the two girls, who both sighed and stood up, following the younger girl into the kitchen. "This'd better be good." Elektra grumbled. "Race ya." Nova smirked, pushing Elektra back down onto the sofa so she had a head start in sprinting to the kitchen. "Oi, that's cheating!" Elle yelled, running after Nova, "You're gonna pay for that, Red!"
Nova tried to slow down so that her white socks wouldn't skid on the kitchen tiles, but the blue-haired girl behind her hadn't caught on, and ran straight into the smaller girl, causing them both to tumble into the kitchen and straight into the cold metal of the fridge. Neither Elektra or Nova could hear Gina's scolding over Tee, Carmen and Sapphire's laughter.
"Ow." Nova groaned, rubbing her elbow that'd slammed into the fridge. "Thanks a lot, Perkins." "You're welcome." Elektra smiled, purposefully ignoring Nova's sarcasm. "Hey, girls. No runnin' in the house, yeah?" Gina scolded once more. Nova looked down at her feet and mumbled an apology, but Elektra just rolled her eyes. "What's the big news then?" She asked the room. "Gus has a date!" Carmen squealed. "No way!" "What's her name?" Tee asked, "Is she pretty?" "Where'd you meet her?" Sapphire inquired. "Have you snogged yet?" Carmen added, causing Elektra and Nova to wince. "Too much." Elektra groaned, just as Nova went to sit at the table to watch. Gina calmed everyone down and explained that Gus's friend Jenny from his orchestra class was coming to dinner on Tuesday. Nova couldn't help but smile at Gus. The pair had bonded over the piano, and Nova still helped Gus with songs he was struggling with, despite the Dumping Ground budget allowing Gus to continue his normal lessons. The older girl had come to realise that the two weren't so dissimilar, both liking to stick to the rules and have a routine, and both of them weren't the best at making or maintaining friends, so the fact Gus had a date made Nova immensely proud. Was this feeling how an older sister felt for her younger sibling's success? Would she ever feel this way towards her sister Liliana? Nova didn't even know when she'd next see her little sister. She made a mental note to ask Tracy.
When everyone had left the kitchen, Nova made her way to Gus's bedroom door, and softly knocked three times. "Who is it?" "It's me, Nova." She answered. Gus opened the door and asked what she wanted. "I was just wondering how you were feeling?" Nova asked, fidgeting with her fingers as she talked, "About Jenny visiting, that is." She clarified. "Fine." "Right. You're uh, not nervous or anything?" Nova prompted, still standing in the doorway. Gus shook his head, "What would I be nervous about?" "I don't know. I just wanted to make sure you knew that if you were worried, or if you had any questions or anything, that you could talk to me, if you wanted to." She rambled, nervously trying to convey the fact that she was there for Gus without scaring him away. "I don't have any questions." He frowned. "Should I have questions?" "Uh, well, I guess not, if you're not worried about anything. I'm sure you've thought everything out already." Nova smiled, to which Gus nodded. "Well, that's okay then. But if you do think of anything, you can always ask." Nova assured Gus before waving goodbye. "See you later my guy." She grinned, knowing the nickname would annoy him, in a playful way of course.
