RELATIONSHIPS

Elektra Perkins: lesbian, she/they

Nova and Elektra were never going to be just friends, no matter how hard they both tried to push their feelings aside for one another. Nova couldn't fall in love, she promised herself not to. she couldn't trust anyone, not after what Rick did to her, but the blue haired beauty made it impossible to keep her promise. despite acting as if they hate each other, the two stand up for each other, even when the other isn't around to see it. Elektra calls Nova "red" and "dork" whilst Nova calls her "Blue" or "loser". Nova is the only one who's allowed to call her "Elle" and she makes use of this privilege far too often. after realising falling in love with each other was inevitable, they embrace it, and start sharing clothes, telling secrets, and even sneaking out to go on skateboard dates or to make out on the swings. Elle opens up to Nova about everything, and Nova reluctantly does the same.

despite the drama of living in Elm Tree House, Nova and Elle make it out together and decide to travel the world together after graduating university. but that's a long time off yet.

Liam O'Donnovan: straight, he/him

Liam and Nova are always flirting and teasing each other. To begin with, Nova only flirts back and doesn't close down Liam's cheesy pick up lines because she likes the positive attention (whether that makes her a bad person Nova doesn't know, but she often contemplates about it late at night). However, as Nova and Liam become closer and closer, their harmless flirting becomes less and less harmless and more and more serious, though no one would know that for quite some time. Liam grows to be Nova's best friend, something the girl never thought possible. She didn't quite know if she could trust this cheeky, rebellious teenager she found herself spending most of her time with, but she wanted to, and that's what mattered. They call each other ridiculous nicknames, like darling and love, but ironically, which not everyone seems to understand.

Nova not only becomes the brains behind Frank and Liam's pranks, but the moral compass too, and always covers for them and helps to get them out of trouble- even if it lands herself in the trouble too. They get up to all kinds of teenage coming of age experiences, like sneaking out at night and painting each other's nails (black of course). Liam learns to just accept that no matter how hard he protests, Nova is still going to steal his clothes- he has some really nice jumpers okay! The pair become so close that everyone just assumes they're dating, much to Elektra's dismay, yet, besides from that one heated kiss in the bathroom, the pair have never had a romantic moment between them. When Elektra and Nova become close too, the three form an unstoppable trio getting up to all kinds of trouble...

Tracy Beaker: bisexual, she/her

The pair clash at first, as the Beaker girl takes some getting used to, especially when Nova is so secluded and quiet, but eventually the pair become great friends, and share a sister-like bond. Although they sometimes fight, mainly over Lily, the two become each other's support blanket: Tracy relies on Nova more than Nova relies on Tracy though, but that doesn't matter to them. Whenever in a pickle, Tracy goes to Nova (and sometimes Liam) for advice and help.
