Things weren't going exactly to plan for Nova Parks. Her traumatic past had meant the teenager was a vessel of conflicting emotions; her need for comfort from others, namely Liam and Elektra, and her tendency to push people away to protect both them and herself had been at war constantly since arriving at Elm Tree House. She wanted to let Liam into her life, Elektra too, but she knew it was incredibly dangerous, especially since the incident with Rick at Burnywood.

The plan was to keep both Liam and Elektra at a distance.

That was kind of hard (completely impossible) to do when you had run away with the two very people you wanted to give some space. Which was exactly where Nova found herself, hence the plan not going to plan at all; she'd run away with the girl she was developing a small crush on (though she had been thoroughly denying this to herself ever since the thought occurred to her) and the boy who had a small (big) crush on her. The plan seemed pathetic now.

Currently, the new plan, the plan of staying hidden and not dying of starvation, dehydration or hypothermia, meant Nova, Liam, and Elektra were huddled under the doorway of an old church, sheltering from the pouring summer rain, the type of rain that comes unexpectedly on summer evenings. The air was thick, and though they weren't exactly cold, Nova wasn't warm either.

"Liam, we can't stay here. It's cold and someone will spot us." Nova worried, conscious that three soaked teenagers hanging out in a churchyard was not exactly blending in. They'd already spent the night in the doorway, two nights would be pushing it. They had to keep moving, Nova knew that. Plus, she was vaguely aware it should be Sunday any day now, and they'd definitely get spotted if they hung around for Sunday Service. In any other situation Nova would have laughed at the thought of Liam, Elektra and her attending Church, singing prayers and being quiet.
Yeah, she thought, we stick out like a cow in a field of chickens.

Elektra moved closer to Nova subconsciously, for warmth.

"There's nowhere else to go." Liam replied, his voice almost inaudible over the rain.
"We could go back to The Dumping Ground?" Elle suggested, looking at them both for approval.
"It's boarded up." Nova replied.
"Like that's gonna stop us." Liam smirked.

So, they altered the plan, and decided to head back to their home whenever the rain stopped, which of course happened to be long into the night. At least they had the cover of darkness when they broke into the house, though this did little to calm Nova's nerves. Running away, trespassing, theft, breaking and entering... the long list of crimes Nova was committing did not bode well for her future. Though, at least she'd have a future if she avoided Burnywood, she reasoned.
