The last few days had been dismal at Elm Tree House. The weather was grey and rainy, yet humid, an awful combination for both Nova's mood and her curly hair, which tended to frizz in humid temperatures. On the first day the weather prevented most from going outside, Nova had spent the day alternating between reading in her room and playing board games with Tee, Lily, and Carmen, however there was only so much of that she could take. She'd played what she estimated to be a thousand games of pool against Johnny, Liam, Frank and even Mike, and the idea of being beaten again by a boy was as off-putting as the amount of cologne Liam has started to wear. By day two of staying inside most of the kids at the Dumping Ground had gone beyond bored, Nova and Elektra included. In fact, the two girls were so bored they'd resorted to bickering just for something to do. The fact their arguing annoyed Tracy was just a bonus.

"Oh, my God!" Elektra exclaimed as she walked into the lounge on the fourth day of not leaving the humid house, "Your hair is hilarious!" She laughed, pointing at Nova's frizzy hair the ginger had stuck in a ponytail to get it out her face.
Nova, lying on the sofa with a book on her lap, rolled her eyes, "Not as ridiculous as your face!" she lamely retorted, to which Elektra chuckled. Liam, sat at the computer, tutted, and sighed, "You need to work on your comebacks, SuperNova, that was horrible."
"Yeah, well, you need to work on your reading level, Leo, what was it you just started reading? Mr Men?" Nova snapped back playfully. Now it was Liam's turn to roll his eyes, just as Elektra walked over to where Nova was lain.
"Nothing wrong with Mr Men books, is there Harry?" Liam asked innocently, to which Harry, sat on the floor with Mr Tickle in his lap, shook his head.

Elektra stopped at the ende of the sofa and picked up Nova's legs, swinging them off the seat and onto the floor before she sat down in there place. The momentum of her actions caused Nova to be flung off the sofa completely, and the girl landed in a hump on the carpet.
"Ow!" she exclaimed, just as Liam and Elektra started laughing. "You bitch! I was sitting there."
"Not anymore you're not." Elektra smiled back.

"Uh, Nova, please tell me I didn't just hear you swearing?" Tracy asked, walking into the room and standing before the girls, "And what are you doing lying on the floor like that?"
"She pushed me off!" Nova exclaimed, hoping to get a reaction out of Elektra. The blue haired girl didn't disappoint, protesting this accusation, "No I didn't! She's making it up to get me into trouble!"
"No I'm not!"
"You are, liar!"
"You're the liar!"
"Oh my God, girls will you cut it out!" Tracy yelled, waving her hands in surrender, "I don't know what's gotten into you two lately. One minute you're friends and rthe next you're not-"
"Parks was never my friend." Elektra interrupted.
Nova exaggerated her frown to hide her smile at winding up Tracy. "Thank God." she muttered under her breath.
"Well whatever's going on you two are gonna figure it out when you do your chores together for the next week." Tracy says, looking pointedly at Elektra, then Nova (who was still sat on the floor).
"Awh, what?" Elektra pouted, "You can't stick me with her, she's useless!"
"Tough. You're stuck with each other now so I suggest you get along." Tracy states before grabbing what she needed from the lounge and leaving again.
