Nova woke up on the last day of July to find the other residents of Elm Tree house buzzing with excitement for something Nova was completely unaware of. She sat at the breakfast table with the other children, sipping her coffee and listening to them talk with such excitement and hyperactivity that Nova already felt exhausted, despite having only being awake for a few hours that day. Elektra, who was sat two seats across from the ginger, noticed Nova's confused daze on her face and waited to explain to her what all the noise was about when they were alone.

Elektra followed Nova out of the kitchen and down the corridor, up the stairs and, only when they reached Liam's bedroom door, did Elektra catch up to Nova. The blue haired girl reached out and grabbed Nova's arm to spin her around, but by doing this Nova jumped and stumbled backwards into Liam's open door.
Nova didn't like people touching her without asking first.
"Red!" Elektra exclaimed, lunging forward to try and catch the falling girl. Elektra managed to grab hold of the girl before she collided with the floor of Liam's bedroom, but she lost her own balance in the process, and tumbled down on top of Nova. The two girls collided with the carpet in an audible bang, the door of Liam's bedroom flying open with an even louder collision as it bounced against the wall.

"Well that's one way to make an entrance." Nova heard, slightly muffled due to the fact Elektra was still on top of her, her coconut shampoo overloading Nova's senses. Nova felt her body heat up with embarrassment as the two scrambled off each other, and off the floor.

"Sorry, Parks. Are you okay?" Elektra grumbled, a worried frown etched onto her forehead.
Nova could feel a few bruises coming through already, but she just nodded instead,
"I'm okay. Are you?"
"Yeah. I didn't mean to startle you or anything, I-" Elektra began before Liam, who Nova could now see was lounging in his bed looking at pictures in a magazine, cut her off.
"I'm fine too, thanks for asking!" He exclaimed sarcastically, "Jesus, you two nearly gave me a heart attack! What on earth were you doing anyways?"
Nova stayed quiet, not really knowing what they were doing in the first place, and let Elektra explain.
"None of your business, squirt." She spat.
"Alright,

"Alright, alright! Just thought you should get your story straight before Mike rushes in wondering what all the noise is." Liam defended.
"That's your problem, not ours." Elektra replied. Before Nova could catch Liam's eye, Elektra had grabbed the girl's hand and tugged her out of the boy's bedroom and toward Nova's.

Nova stayed quiet as Elektra closed the bedroom door behind her. Elektra than took a seat on Nova's bed and motioned for Nova to join her, which the girl did.
"Are you hurt?" Elektra asked.
"Not really. What did you want?" Nova asked, not sure of the other girl's intentions. Elektra was making her emotional and Nova didn't like that.
Elektra shifted awkwardly in her seat and got up to sit at the desk opposite instead.
"I saw you acting all confused at breakfast, so I wanted to explain what all the fuss was about. Seems stupid now so I guess I'll be going." Elektra muttered, before leaping out of her seat and making her way to the door. Nova swiftly stood up, blocking the door from Elektra's way.
"It's not stupid. I'm just iffy about being touched sometimes, I should've told you. Sorry." Nova explained, desperately wanting to make Elektra stay.
Elektra looked down at the carpet. Nova reached out and took Elektra's hand and held it.
"Please tell me why everyone's excited." Nova pleaded, looking into Elektra's eyes. The taller girl broke away and sat on the bed once more. This time, feeling a little hurt at Elektra pulling their hands apart, especially after being so vulnerable, Nova sat at the desk instead.
