Chapter 16 "Wendy Dragneel"

Lucy POV

Erza finally made it to the park 10 minutes later. She raised an curious eyebrow at my unexpected acquaintance but didn't say anything. We got in the car and drove off towards Natsu's house.

Natsu's house was on the outskirts of the town. It was where the families and people who lived in poverty stayed at and where people who were just trying to make a living lived. Natsu's house was one of the decent looking ones. Not perfect but suitable to live in.

I told the girl to stay in the car with Erza but I noticed that she looked like she desperately wanted to come so I took her with me. We walked to the door and as I was about to knock, the girl just opened the door and walked inside.

"Wait!!! What the hell are you doing?!"

She didn't turn back around and just continued to walk inside. I was hesitant to follow her but I did after a couple of seconds. Inside the house looked as good as it did outside.  They had soft couches facing the medium sized television in the living room. The living room was connected to the kitchen which had an island in the middle of it. They had a wooden staircase leading upstairs which the little girl had just walked to.

"Where are you going?"

"Follow me. You're looking for Natsu, right?

"Uh, yeah."

She nodded her head up to the stairs and started to walk up them. I followed her dumbly and surprised because she hasn't talked since the incident at the park and she just waltzed into the house like it was hers.

We had walked to a door that was decorated with a big red dragon blowing fire out of its nostrils. She knocked on the door and waited. No answer. She knocked again but a little harder. Still no answer. She started banging her hand on the door and I heard something fall and curse. The person walked to the door and sighed then opened the door.

"What?"

"Natsu!!"

"Oh, hey, Wendy. What took you so long?"

She avoided his gaze and looked at the ground. His eyes darkened a bit.

"They weren't messing with you again, were they?"

She didn't say anything. He let out a string of curse words.

"I'm going to fucking kill them."

"No, they didn't do anything wrong."

I scoffed at her trying to cover for them.

"Yeah because trying to cut off your pride and glory is qualified as not doing anything wrong."

Natsu's head snapped towards me and his face was full of shock.

"What the hell are you doing here? And they tried to cut off her hair!?!"

"Oh, its nice to see you, too. I've been trying to find your stupid ass and yes."

"Why is she with you?"

"Do I need to tell you the whole story?"

"Yes."

"Well, you need to sit down for this one."

We went into his room and we all sat down. I told him the story of what happened beginning at the part in school and ending at the part where Wendy walked into the house. Wendy told her part of the story about how it all started. According to her, the older girls were picking on her again and she decided to stand up for herself and called them egoistical bitches with no back bone. Well, she didn't say that but it was close enough.

"Okay, so, let me process this. You needed to tutor so you get your friend to find my address."

I nodded my head. He took a breath and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"So you happen to see some older girls picking on Wendy so you decide to jump in. Then, you take Wendy on your crazy adventure to find me."

I nodded my head again. Natsu blew out some air from his mouth. Wendy looked between the both of us in confusion.

"Um, I don't mean to interrupt but how do you two know each other?"

"Oh, this is Lucy. My friend. We go to school together also."

I winced at the word 'friend' but I quickly recovered and asked the question that's been on my mind since we walked through the door.

"How do you two know each other then?"

"Oh, um, remember I told you about my little sister?"

"Yeah, but I don't get...oh...oh...oh my god. This is your little sister?!"

"Yep, the one and only, Wendy Dragneel."

"Now that I think about you two look like you have that sibling bond."

"We do?"

They both said it at the same time and even tilted their head in sync. I laughed at their cute faces.

"Yeah. Now I know where you get your cuteness from. Your parents must be beautiful."

"I got my looks from my mom but I got my hair from my dad."

"She must be stunning but I guess she's not here."

"Yeah, she's not."

I noticed Natsu's eyes held some sadness in them but I didn't say anything. We sat in awkward silence for a couple of seconds before Natsu cleared his throat and stood up.

"Well, its getting late and you found me so shouldn't you be going now?"

"No."

"Why not?"

I put my feet up on his table and grinned.

"You haven't tutored me yet."
