Exactly 8am I knocked on the large gates on Hookhill Estate. But when no one opened, I took matters in my own hands and entered the ghost castle. It was as magnificent as last time, though it felt a bit desolated when Reed didn't meet me at the door.
I almost thought he would do so like last time. I wondered if he actually was as handsome but strange as I imagined him, or if it was my mind which made me portray him that way. His smell... His eyes...
I had this day taken a pair of jeans with no holes in them and a purple shirt to please Mr. Cranky. I placed my helmet on the hat shelf before standing in front of a large wall mirror and straightening my fringe. I knew where the library was, so maybe just as good to head up there and start cleaning?
I didn't have time to head towards the stairs though before the front door opened and Reed stepped in through it. Immediately, the desolate feeling was replaced by expectant warmth and I couldn't help but feel a form of euphoria to see him.
"I beat you to it!" I snickered and he frowned as he closed the door. He looked almost a bit breathless. Like if he had hurried here. He wore similar clothes as last time, a shirt with rolled up sleeves and dark trousers. "8am and ready to work!"
"Good." He examined me and I turned in front of him, smiling mischievously.
"And I have whole pants on your behalf."
"I'm glad to see that." However, he looked totally apathetic. But his gaze looked almost puzzled. As if he did everything he could not to smile or show emotions. I cleared my throat.
"However, we must bargain how I'm not allowed to drive through the woods, sir. Um, Mr. Reed!" He squinted at me. "It takes much longer for me to drive, and I get fewer hours of sleep! A guy like me needs his beauty sleep and,"
"No."
"What no? I need my hours of sleep to,"
"You're not driving through the forest." I moaned.
"Is it because I scare the wolves? Why do you even have a way through the forest then?!" Reed headed up the stairs and I followed.
"Just because we have a road it isn't optimal to travel on for people like you, especially not on such a dangerous vehicle."
"Dangerous vehicle? Really?" I snickered. "Gosh you're so weird!" I glared at him but he didn't even bother to look at me. "I'm capable of,"
"No!"
"No!" I answered quickly, frowning. "Sorry I just wondered." He sighed, glancing back at me.
"No, um... It's okay. But if you really feel like you lost important time to sleep by leaving home early, you can come here twenty minutes later instead."
"No, of course I'm so mature that I can keep times. It was just a thought."
We went in silence to the library. I glanced up at Reed while trying to keep up with his pace. He had long legs and determined steps. He was deep in his own thoughts, and the frown he made, made him even more sexy. When he turned his gaze to me I looked away, blushing at how he caught me staring.
But everything about Reed was like... I can't describe it. His appearance, his charisma, his scent... It was as if I was drawn to him. How everything with him made my heart beat a little faster. Easy Ryan, he's a git!
When we reached the library I couldn't help but smile big when I saw all the books again. The view was still magnificent. I took a deep breath to smell all those old books, but another scent filled me. I turned to Reed. Rich man's perfume, I'm sure! I looked around the large library with my hands to my hips, sighing.
