I stared at the couple in front of us. The haughty older version of me and the slim elven-like woman. Out of the cars welled people just as haughty and pale as them.

Meg and Isabella walked back and forth below the stairs, on guard while showing their teeth against Buck-fucker's pack. It was a moment of awkward silence where I just stared at the alpha couple of the Royal pack; yeah I refuse to call them my parents! They are nothing more than sperm and egg donors who created my dashing ass!

I could hear Mike's wild heartbeat behind me and how his breathing was laboured, but I couldn't bring myself to tear my eyes from the couple in front of us to look at him. But I bet he was both scared, confused and probably shocked. I had been so too my first time seeing someone shift. When haughty-me finally spoke again, I jerked and pressed into Reed's side, feeling uneasy.

"Shall we just stand here?"

He took a step towards the rest of us, but my pack reacted instinctively. Meg made a lunge in his direction, her jaws closed on thin air causing Buck-fucker to lunge at her, growling deep. Haughty-me retraced his step with his hands up in front of him, laughing low.

"Easy now everybody."

"What brings these two noble alphas with their packs to our territory?" Reed's voice was deadly calm. Seemingly unaffected by the ominous atmosphere. But he squeezed me slightly harder to him. "It's been a long time since I've seen you in person, Thor." That's right, Thor. Haughty-me was named Thor. Fucking insult to the god of thunder!

"Oh, Reed Ramon Hook, the third! You look just like your father."

"Don't you dare speak of him!" Angus growled.

"Oh, this must be Angus Anthony Hook," Thor turned to him with a haughty grin. "I've heard you inherited your grandfather's temperament."

"You never answered my question, alpha," Reed said calmly. "What brings you here?"

"We wanted to meet our son of course!" he burst, waving at me with a huge smile. "My sweet Ryan, my third born." I stared at him and felt like snapping at his words, but I promised Reed to be quiet. But I couldn't help but gag. "It's been so long since last time."

"Yeah, that time you left him to die," Reed's voice went venomous.

"There, there let's not be condemning. I never left him to die."

"You didn't? What about that basket?"

"I would never dirty my noble hands with such deeds when I have my betas doing that for me," he just shrugged. "But I don't remember asking them to leave him in a basket. I must remember to be more specific with my demands." His words made Isabella growl. "Reed, if you'll excuse me; don't you have better discipline on your minions?"

"My pack are not my minions but respected members."

"That's right, you Hooks and your righteous manners! I've always questioned why you took that turn."

"To be human and more open-hearted?"

"We're not humans, Reed," Thor chuckled. "Humanity is not for a shifter."

I swear; if I end up as haughty and ugly as him I'm gonna loose it! I am thankful I can't pass my genes on to the next generation, at least not with Reed.

I had time to consider the possibility for me to impregnate a human woman, but soon shook off the thought when Buck-fucker suddenly shifted and walked up to Thor.

Seeing him in human form made me whine, taking a step back which made Steven to rip his clothes to pieces when shifting on the spot. He placed himself between me and the visitors, him growling like the other two in our pack.
