The music echoed from the speakers all the way out to the street. I regretted not taking my letterman jacket since the bad weather made the air feel raw and cold, and I shivered as I stood rubbing my own arms to get warmer. Would it start to rain? It hung heavy in the air, the humidity. All around us there were party-hungry people ready to dance their shoes off.

"Fuck Mike, is there long left until it's our turn?"

"No, just a few people in front of us."

"Does the humidity ruin my hairdo?" I looked up at Mike who leaned his head to the side, pondering.

"Nah, it's okay!"

"And the colours, you put a lot of work on it?" Mike grabbed my chin and turned my head in all directions.

"Nah, it looks good too!"

"And my eyeliner?"

"Perfect!" I giggled.

"Sweet! Oh look, there comes Pete! PETE!!!"

Pete was one of the doormen at the club. Mike sold him a car once and since then he always lets us in if he sees us in the queue. Now the other guard's shift was over, and Pete took over for him. As soon as he heard his name being called and his eyes fell on us, he waved us to come forward.

With a grin, Mike grimaced at the tall guys in front of us as we walked past the queue and almost hurried in through the nightclub doors.

"Thank you, Pete!" I cooed over my shoulder, grinning at him.

"You're looking good tonight, Ryan!"

"You too!"

The music and the flashing lights hit us, and we hurried past the closets and up the stairs to the large dance floor. Since it was a rave theme, the party lights reflected on all the dancing visitors' clothes and make-up. There were neon colours EVERYWHERE.

Mike took me to the bar and ordered two drinks for us. I couldn't hear what kind of drinks he chose due to the music, but I trusted that he chose something good. I leaned against the bar counter while looking around.

I could glimpse my own reflection in a mirror pillar and smiled broadly. Mike had drawn neon stars in pink, green, yellow, and purple around my eyes and over my forehead. In the middle above my nose, he had drawn an evening star in all the colours of the rainbow! I had glitter under both eyes as well as in my hair and purple neon dots on my cheeks. I had eyeliner and I was... cute! I grinned.

My white shirt was a good contrast to my neon fishnet tights and neon pink shorts. Around one of my arms Mike had tied a striped tie and the soles of my glittery shoes lit up against the dark dance floor. I looked like a wonderful and amazing little unicorn!

"Mike, MIKE I'm a unicorn!" I giggled as he handed me a glass with a colourful drink. "Look how sweet I am!" Maybe our pre-drinks at home already affected me, but never mind; I was happy!

"A cute one for sure!" he smiled before we toasted, and he swept half his drink at once.

Mike himself didn't have as much makeup as I did. I loved it more than he did but wasn't as good at putting it on, so he helped me. He had painted lines on his cheeks and wore a neon headband. His shirt was neon green and his pants white with glitter. I forced him to have glitter somewhere on his body. If I got to choose I would have thrown glitter all over him! I exclaimed a happy joyful cheer when I saw Pamela and her boyfriend and waved wildly at them.

"PAM!"

"Aw Ryan darling!" she giggled before hugging me hard. "I miss you at work!"

"I miss you too!"
