"Ryan?"

"Hi Mom! How are you?"

"Aw, sweetheart! So good to hear your voice. It's just fine. Dad and I are repainting the hall."

"What? You've always loved that extremely ugly green wallpaper you refused to change during the years we all lived at home!"

"Lately I've been falling for honey yellow!"

"Then we are two..."

"How are you, dear? Are you enjoying yourself out there? Is it getting cold? Does Reed heat up the estate? Is he kind to you?"

"It's just great. Or, more than great," I smiled, blushing.

I was lying on a couch in the library with my legs over the armrest, staring up at the ceiling. Mr. Sparkles lay on the backrest above my head and purred soothingly. I almost lived on the weekend that was, how me and Reed cuddled basically the whole time. Returning to everyday life on Monday was boring, but still it felt completely okay since he was still close and the fact that I since Sunday slept with him in his bed.

Did you know how hot another man can be? How there was no need for an element in his cold room when I could just cuddle up in his arms and use him as an extra blanket? I snuggled up to him and slept in his arms all night, and that he never got tired or became stiff was a mystery to me. Every morning he kissed my hair, then my lips, and I breathed in his deep and sweet scent. It fuelled my body!

"Are you busy with work all day?" mom asked and I could hear her rattling with something in the background.

"What exactly are you doing?"

"I guess we need more wallpaper paste. I thought there was more in the basement. And I think I want to invest in a new ottoman. It would be nice to have a new one for your grandmother's old dresser."

"You can go out shopping!"

"Dad has the big car."

"Didn't he help you?"

"Yes but he had to fetch more wood. So, what's up for you honey? How's the library going?"

"It takes time but it's unexpectedly fun! But today I take it a bit easy. I... I feel odd."

"Odd?"

"I dunno... I woke up with a bit of nausea, and now my skin itches again." It began after lunch, when I headed back here and Reed to his office.

"Do you dress warmly?"

"I do."

"What does Reed say?"

"I don't want to worry him. He's a bit too protective."

"He's a gentleman!"

"He thinks I'm sick for the tiniest things! If I just sneeze he says I've caught the flu, or if I stumble he thinks I broke my foot! He wants to keep me inside and warm by a fire."

"But you don't feel sick?"

"Rather restless in my body." It tingled and itched. I felt that restlessness inside me I had felt before. "But it's probably just that I need to get out a bit. I used to take walks thru the forest with Reed but today he's out working on the reserve, and he suggested me to not go there alone, especially since we've seen the wolves up close."

"Oh, you have?!"

"I forgot to take a picture of it last Sunday when I saw one, but if I see one again I will."

"So now you are alone?"

"Yes," and it made me grumpy for some reason.

"Can't you go shopping with me then?"
