Chapter 20 - metting the team

Katerina PoV:
I'm on the plane in Coulson's office right now waiting for Skye. "How's the shoulder?" He asked breaking the silence. "Been better." I replied as the door opened.

I got up from my seat and introduced myself. "Hey I'm Katerina, but you can call me Katya." I said while holding my hand out for her to shake. "Yeah I know, I'm Skye." She said but not in a bitchy way. "Relax I'm not a cunt unless you give me a reason to be one. You don't need to be so nervous." I explained to her and she looked confused. "How did you-" "She has powers." Coulson butted in. "That makes sense." She said while awkwardly laughing.

We both sat down and waited for Coulson to say something. "So glad you two have met but Skye if you don't mind me saying I thought Katerina could help with out side investigation we're working on." He said and Skye nodded. "We have been working on trying to find out who Skye's parents are and because you are a higher level than me you have access to more files." He explained and I nodded. "I'm sorry but I've kinda been working on my own side mission to find my biological parent and the other dad, so I'm a bit busy but if you give me some file names I'll look into it when I've got a moment." I told them and Skye's face lit up. "Omg that you so much, you have no idea how much this means to me!" She exclaimed while shaking with excitement.

I haven't told anyone about me looking for my biological parents. I think they will think it's stupid. The non-biological one I don't want to know him, I want to kill him.

My phone started ringing. 'Natalia ❤️'
"I'm sorry I have to take this." I said before I walked into an empty room. "Hey are you ok?" I asked worried. "I'm just letting you know I'm going on a mission so I won't be able to call tonight." She told me. "What kind?" I asked hoping it wasn't a dangerous one. "A retrieval, should be in and out but I'm not entirely sure. I should be back just after midnight." She said, not calming my nerves.  "Is anyone going with you?" I asked hoping Clint or literally anyone was because Nat is one of the most reckless people I know. "Nope." "Ok well text me when you're on the jet back. Be careful and I love you." I said while trying to calm my nerves. "I love you too." She spoke and I heard her get on the jet in the background so I hung up.

"Kovaleva is that you?" May asked from behind me. "I feel like I haven't see you in years." I said while turning around to look at her. "Because you haven't seen me in years." She replied and I rolled my eyes. "I heard you almost died the other week, you don't look too bad." She said and I laughed. "I look awful and I've been benched for 3 months." I complained. "It could be worse, you could of been benched forever." She assured me but it didn't make me feel any better so I just nodded in response.

"How's Natasha?" She asked and I smiled. "Shes good." I said and she nodded. "How's Bucky?" She asked. "He was a little shaken up after he found out he almost killed me and for a few days he refused to be in the same room as me but he's doing much better now." I explained and then Coulson walked in with two people following him. They looked young, definitely not over 20.

"Katerina this is Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons, Fitz-Simmons this is Katerina and she will be helping Skye with her work." Coulson introduced. "It's such an honour to meet you, and I'm sure I'm speaking for the both of us when I say we are happy to have you on board." Simmons said while shaking my hand. She was a young British girl working for S.H.E.I.L.D, I feel bad for her.

A/N- I know this is a ridiculously short chapter but the next one is long i promise. I just didn't know how to continue this one without it not making sense sorry!
