Chapter 9 - i love you too

Natasha PoV:
It's been a couple hours since Katya fell asleep and I haven't moved because I don't want to wake her. Wanda messaged me asking if she was ok but I just ignored it and blocked her. I don't care if she's Katya's sister, she dug around in her brain and made her relive the most traumatic memories, that she has partly moved on from, all because 'she wanted to see what her childhood was like.'

There was a knock on the door so I slowly got up and checked who it was. Wanda. "No." I said and I went to close the door. "Please Natasha." She said but I closed the door anyway.

I got back in bed with Katya and looked at her. Her face was tear/mascara stained and her hair was messy. She looked pale and was sweating, not because she was hot it was more of a cold sweat. She shot up in a panic and I immediately knew what had happened.
A nightmare. I pulled her in for a hug and she cried in my arms.

Katerina PoV:
A nightmare. I hadn't had one I'm months. It was always the same one. Being dragged off to my 'Graduation Ceremony.' That's why I was so scared of the doctors and hospitals. I know it's not like they can do it again but I was still terrified. I took a tablet in the morning and one at night to stop the nightmares. It was working pretty well up until now.

I sobbed in Natasha's arms for a bit and then pulled away. "Do you wanna talk about it?" Natasha suggested and I shook my head. "Ok." She replied and I laid back down with her. "Do you want to go see Bruce so he can up your dosage?" She asked and I shook my head.

Then fury came in. "Agent Kovaleva, you need to go on a mission." He said and Natasha got extremely defensive which was so hot. "No can you not see that she not in the correct mental state right now!" Natasha yelled while sitting up. I placed a hand on her shoulder to stop her from losing her temper. "Natasha I will be fine." I said as I sat up as well. "See she's fine." Fury said while dragging me out of bed. "Get off me." I said and he let go of me. "I will be downstairs waiting." Fury stated while walking out.

"Baby you can't go." Natasha tried to convince me. "We both know I have to." I replied as I began to put my suit on. "No you don't." She said and I rolled my eyes. She got out of bed and wrapped her hands around my waist. My suit wasn't zipped up so I was just in my bra and my legs were covered.

I took my bracelets off and Natasha looked at me. "What's that?" She asked as she pointed to my wrist. "Oh it's nothing don't worry." I said and she grabbed my wrist. "Where did you get this?" She asked as she looked at the widow scar on my wrist. "How do you think?" I replied sarcastically as I noticed she looked heartbroken. "When?" She questioned and I looked away. "Can we talk about it when I get back?" I asked and she hesitantly nodded. "I promise we will, it's not like it's going anywhere." I joked and she laughed a bit but I could tell she didn't find it funny.

I zipped my suit up and went to wash my face as there was still mascara all over it. I put my hair in two dutch braids and came out the bathroom.

"I love you and I will call you if I get hurt." I reassured her and she turned to look at me. I realised what I just said. Before she could reply I grabbed my phone and ran downstairs.

"I'm ready." I said to fury and he took me out to the jet. "You are looking for information." He told me and I looked at him funny. "I'm sorry but I might need a bit more than that." I told him and he looked down. "Information on a new super solider program." He said while handing me a USB. "Ok." I replied and he walked back to the compound.

I got in the jet and put the coordinates in and put auto pilot on. I sat down and checked my phone. Natasha had been spamming me.

I love you too.
Katerina please answer
*4 missed calls*
Baby please.
Katerina I love you.

I immediately called her back.

"I love you." Natasha said and she sounded like she had been crying. "Baby I know it's ok." I reassured her and she sniffled. "Do you know when you will be back?" She asked. "It should be a quick in and out one so hopefully tomorrow." I explained as got up. "Baby I need to go Clint needs help. I love you be safe." She said as I grabbed some guns to put in my holster. "I love you too." I said before she hung up.

4 hours later I landed.

Im waiting for the files to download and I hear the door creek open. I turn around and it's Dreykov. I knew it wasn't him, I was hallucinating, but I still froze. They jammed a blade into my leg and removed it. I used my powers to snap his neck.

I grabbed the USB and ran. My leg hurt but I didn't care. I ran back to the jet and put the compound coordinates in. I put auto pilot on and grabbed a first aid kit. I put a gauze on my wound and wrapped a bandage around it really tight to hopefully stop the bleeding or at least slow it down.

I got back to the compound relatively quickly and the bleeding hadn't slowed down. I stumbled into the compound and saw fury straight away. "Here." I said as I shoved the USB into his chest. I felt myself go lightheaded and then my vision went black.
