😎📖💚🥞🌞🐙I wake to the sound knocking on the door. I sit up and I frown--the room is a mess. Somehow Sunwoo got in here and is dead asleep on the other bed, but he kicked all the blankets and pillows off of it.
I stand up and I immediately trip over another body laying on the floor.
"Ow what the hell??" I groan as Hyunjae opens his eyes.
"What??" He says, equally as confused.
A second knock on the door.
I hop around the pillows and I crack the door open a bit.
"You look like shit," Miji says.
I clamp my mouth shut as I remember that I'm on the ski trip, she's my roommate, and I got drunk last night.
"O-oh, sorry, come in," I open the door wider.
I watch as her expression changes from amusement to judgement. Then I see both Sunwoo and Hyunjae slowly standing up and stretching.
"I-I know this looks bad," I say quickly. "It's um... what happened was-was that..."
"No need to explain." Miji says. "I think I got the idea. I just didn't think you were that type of person."
"What type of person?" I ask.
She shrugs, "We're more similar than I thought."
"it's not like that," Hyunjae says.
"Then what are you even doing here?" she asks him. "Your room isn't even on this floor."
"They both drank too much and I was just making sure they got back safely." He explains slowly. "I slept on the floor."
"Right," She rolls her eyes. "As I said, I don't need an explanation from anyone."
Sunwoo and I share a silent look thinking you just asked him to explain why are you saying you don't need an explanation??
I make eye contact with Miji and immediately I recognize her judgy look.
Does she like Hyunjae?
I shake my head, that's not the point here. The more I become awake the more I realize my head hurts, like someone is squeezing my skull.
"Okay then," Hyunjae shrugs and straightens the beanie that is still on from last night. "I'll get going now."
I watch him leave the room without another word. He leaves so quickly it's like he was in a rush to get somewhere.
"A-and I'll go," Sunwoo adds.
Traitor.
He nudges my arm and says quietly, "meet in the lobby?"
I nod and he shuts the door behind him.
I turn around, wincing when I realize this is what a hangover feels like.
"Hm," Miji hums as she throws her shirt off and puts on something else. "It's never the ones you expect." I catch her eye in the mirror as she studied her fit.
"What's that supposed to mean?" I ask.
She shrugs. "Just didn't think you'd have the guts to go for someone like Hyunjae."
"Excuse me? I'm not 'going for him.'" I say.
"Uh huh. Come on get real it's the fucking ski trip. Look honestly I congratulate you, and if you ever need any after support I'm here for you—since I'm assuming it was your first time."
