School isn't usually as painful as it is now. I see him everywhere yet he seems to see me nowhere. I don't know why my eyes are still drawn to him. Maybe a part of me is hoping to see that he's secretly hurt, or that maybe he still thinks of me sometimes.

"YOu're being pathetic." Sunwoo's annoying voice makes me turn my attention towards him.

"I'm not." I say.

"Stop looking back, it's obvious." He says. "Isn't the best revenge indifference?"

"No, the best revenge is arson."

"You can't run fast enough to get away with that." Sunwoo says.

"You can't either,"

"I know, that means we'd both be caught, because you'd make me help you." He says.

"true," I sigh.

It's been a few days since we got back. Not a text or a call from him. I purposefully don't go outside just in case he might be running in our neighborhood.

It's the weirdest feeling. Wanting, needing to talk to him but also avoiding him like my life depends on it.

"Good morning everyone," The teacher claps her hands and the room goes silent. "We're going to be starting our end of the year projects now so that you have lots of time to complete it. It's going to be in partners."

"yes!" Sunwoo and I look at each other.

"Assigned partners, that is," she adds.

"Fuck," Sunwoo whispers.

"I'll write the names on the board, please come up here to see." She turns around and begins writing our names in two rows.

"We have to pray," I say. I grab both of his hands and we hold each other tightly, praying we don't get stuck with people we don't like.

The class begins standing up and crowding around the board, some people cheering and others groaning.

"Oh my fucking god." I say. "We're never praying again, it didn't work."

"Shit," Sola mutters under her breath.

Everyone begins switching seats to sit with their partners and I look around for that goddamned Hyunjae. I've been doing a good job keeping my cool around Sola, but really I've been keeping in my anger because I know she wants to handle it herself.

but it's really hard to sit next to the guy I've been wanting to punch for the past few days.

"So..." Hyunjae says.

I hate that he says it like that. So. That's too casual, as if he thinks I don't know what happened.

"Psychology reports are like about each other right?" He asks.

I just stare at him, more like glaring. He asks that as if we haven't been practicing these since the beginning of the year.

He's so fucking annoying. He pisses me off, his cocky confidence makes my blood boil knowing he can just sweep under the rug what he did to Sola.

"...so we have to like, get to know each other." Hyunjae adds. I can tell he's getting nervous the more I don't respond.

"Yeah good luck with that." I tell him, pulling my phone out to play Cats are Cute.
