Chapter 38

3rd person's POV

"We have a small dent near the dock because AFO crashed into it." Kaminari informs, showing them the dent before getting on the ship for their voyage.

"Which part of the ship is this?"

"I have no clue." Kaminari responds, sighing as he rests his hands on his hips.

"The best choice we have is, go to the space, figure out what's fucked up on our ship and then solve it, mid air." Izuku says, touching it lightly as he remembers AFO crashing into it. It was fun to watch.

"Isn't that like- dangerous?" Katsuki questions as soon as they all start filing inside, he was worried Izuku might hurt himself, especially after a war and a recovering arm.

"Well, not really, I just need to make sure my suit is working well, which I'm pretty sure is cause I didn't explode when I was down there fighting AFO. But, it's not a big deal." Izuku simply shrugs patting Katsuki's shoulder, who was actually a little taller, and waking away.

They had stayed the night in Aeëtes. After getting a special permission and security from the planet's nearly non-existent space patrol.

Izuku had to explain the situation to them, through Kirishima as the translator as only one person from the board of directors spoke English.

They were weary at first, but immediately gave them permission when Izuku mentioned the fight with AFO and that they won.

Nobody wanted AFO in their area, after all.

"Kaminari can take charge until I come back, so off we go." Izuku mumbles, sitting in Katsuki's place as Kaminari say in his.

"Engine 1, check. Engine 2, check. Propellor 1, 2 and 3, check. We are ready for take off." Kaminari awkwardly and hesitantly says, looking over to Izuku for approval.

Izuku immediately gives him a thumbs up, motivating him.

"Talking off Voyager 32." Kaminari starts, with a small hiccup and a near heartattack to Kaminari, the spacecraft starts, soaring into the space steadily.

"You're doing amazing Kaminari. Where did you learn this?" Izuku asks as soon as they're up in the air and stable enough for Kaminari to let out a breath.

"My dad taught me!" Kaminari excitedly shares, "He used to be a spacecraft developer and when I was young, he used to take me to his work place. I helped him with testing and all."

"You were a lab rat?" Katsuki scoffs from his seat behind them.

"Hey! I wasn't allowed to test anything, my dad would operate everything and explain them to me, but I did the basic help, you know. I drove my first aircraft when I was 17."

"Midoriya, we're here." Shinso whispers, probably letting out a yawn right after that.

The spaceship was stable and hovering a decent height above the planet's atmosphere. Izuku started suiting up, checking everything for a tear as Katsuki stands next to him, anxious.

"Kacchan stop worrying, I'll be fine." Izuku whispers right before putting on his helmet.

"No you won't. You're a dumbass who doesn't care for yourself and don't you dare tell me not to be worried, I'm your boyfriend! Of course I'm going to be worried, idiot."

Izuku let's out a fond laugh, gently holding Katsuki's cheeks as he smiles, reaching out for something near him.

"Why don't you join me, Kacchan?" Izuku asks, showing a suit with Katsuki's name in it.

"You're- are you asking me to come to space? With you?" Katsuki asks in disbelief. He had never done that! Just a little zero gravity practice but... This is scary.

"Hmm, yes. If you want to, of course. I wouldn't force you, but don't worry, I'll make sure nothing happens to us." Izuku soothes him, encouraging him to take the suit and change into it.

"You better not let me go, broccoli." Katsuki whispers, holding Izuku's hand tightly as Todoroki opens the dock door from inside.

"I wouldn't, porcupine."

Katsuki feels Izuku pull him outside with him, with slight hesitation and fear, Katsuki follows.

At the last step, Katsuki hesitates, his breath staggering as he comes to a stubborn stop. Izuku doesn't let him go though, instead he pulls him closer, wrapping his arms tightly around his waist.

"You're okay Katsuki, look around." Izuku whispers as Katsuki finally looks up and around, losing focus on his feet for a couple minutes.

It looked... Beautiful... So magical, Katsuki wanted to touch every single star he could see.

Izuku smiles watching Katsuki's face brighten. He looked so amazed and mesmerised, Izuku wanted to kiss him so bad.

Since the suit was inbetween, Izuku softly bonks his head on Katsuki's, breaking him out of the trance.

"What?" Katsuki immediately asks with a confused smile as Izuku shakes his head, pulling him closer and finally free into the space.

"Woah-" Katsuki murmurs, floating next to Izuku as the pipe connecting them to the spaceship slowly unravels, letting them further into the space.

Izuku starts pulling them back towards the spaceship and near the dent as Kaminari helps with directions from the control panel.

When Izuku starts welding the dent, Katsuki floats idlely, watching his boyfriend do his work but mostly watching the stars.

The looked so close by, but of course, they were all millions of kilometres away.

"Kacchan? You okay? You've been looking at the stars for a while now." Izuku comments when he finishes and pockets all the tools back.

"I don't know, it just feels like I belong here? All the way up in space and... I'm with you and I feel like I'm home." Katsuki finishes with a big happy sigh.

Izuku doesn't say anything, simply pulls him into arms, softly swaying them. 

They stand close to each other, their wires softly tangling as Izuku sighs.

"I think I might love you, Kacchan."

"I think I might love you too, broccoli." Katsuki finishes with a slight chuckle, holding Izuku's hand and letting his other hand travel to his waist.

"You want to dance now, Kacchan? Seriously? In mid space?" Izuku questions, laughing slightly. (Idea credits: perhapsimyours)

"Mhm, probably." Katsuki mumbles, swaying them both carefully, basking in the warm feeling in their hearts.
