3rd Person's POV
Katsuki and Izuku both enter their room with a synchronised yawn, making them both chuckle tiredly. Thankfully, they had two beds, unlike the fictional stories that Izuku read during his teenage years.
He half-hoped that was the case, but also knew he was too tired to think about it.
Katsuki ends up plopping down on the bed as soon as they step in and he's out like a flame. Izuku wondered how long the entire team had gone without sleep, especially since he did ruin it once.
He wanted to sleep too. he really did, but even after hours of rolling on the bed, he doesn't manage to get a single ounce of sleep.
He looks over to find Katsuki asleep peacefully, so decides not to disturb him and slowly sneaks towards the small study table and turns on the lamp to sketch something.
His head was literally dropping down yet he knew he wouldn't be able to get sleep either way.
"Who's it?" Katsuki groggily questions, harshly rubbing his eyes and trying to adjust his eyes to the bright surrounding.
"Oh my goodness! My bad Bakugo, I didn't expect you to wake since you were fast asleep." Izuku apologises, quickly turning off the light. He didn't expect the lamp to be that powerful, it somehow lit up the entire room.
"I'm a light sleeper and I guess I just didn't expect someone to turn on the light and don't worry, I dont really give a fuck, but I would appreciate it if you try to sleep." Katsuki sternly adds, straightening up his posture.
"Oh I can't sleep, I have insomnia" Izuku explains, but still obeying Katsuki and walking over to his own bed, silently creeping inside the sheets.
"Then how do you get rest? You look so tired right now." Katsuki asked confused, he turns on a small light by the bedside table since he didn't know where Izuku was to start with.
The low dim light beautifully lights up Izuku's face, his freckles cutely popping out, yet what concerned Katsuki the most was that Izuku had dark circles under his eyes, really bad ones.
He looked so tired, Katsuki slightly felt sorry for him. Just slightly though.
"It usually takes a couple days before I pass out or at times, I get a few minutes sleep in the afternoon, but since we are here, it isn't possible to sleep inbetween work" Izuku sheepishly admits, snuggling closer to his pillows and making himself warm as he tiredly peeks out of his heavy eyelids.
"That is not healthy at all. did you not find anything to help you? Earth has developed so much better, you cant just keep living like this dumbass." Katsuki says, softly yet sternly, with no way to back answer.
"I've... try- tried them already kacchan bakugo...," Izuku mumbles his words slurring together as Katsuki chuckles watching an adorable Izuku in the verge of falling asleep, "they would- ... didn't work." he softly adds before rolling over and eventually falling asleep.
"Kacchan Bakugo, huh?" Katsuki softly whispers, he would never accept it but he thought it looked cute. He absolutely wouldn't mind Izuku calling him that.
The next morning, when Izuku wakes up he feels a lot more refreshed than he ever had, he hadn't slept properly in like what? More than 2 weeks now, he was cramming up all the syllabus in his mind for the exam and ever since they somehow accidentally got stranded in an unknown galaxy, he couldn't exactly think about sleep, thats just immature of him.
Sleep isn't even that important.
"Oh morning, baby." Katsuki walks in, sipping on a cup of coffee.
Izuku literally chokes hearing that, his coughing fit slightly worries Katsuki, who immediately reaches for a glass of water and passes it to him. He slowly calms down, throat still a little scratchy when he starts to speak,
"What did... you just call me?" Izuku weakly questions with a raised eyebrow.
"Um... I called you a baby?" Katsuki confusedly replies, placing his now empty cup on the bedside table and sitting down opposite to Izuku.
"Why-, Izuku clears his throat softy when his voice breaks, "Why would you call me that?"
"Um.. because you looked like a literal baby while sleeping and you babbled like a baby when you were tired. Probably also cause you have baby cheeks." Katsuki replies, still confused.
"Oh... it's just uh- nothing nevermind." Izuku waves it off with red cheeks, looking down at his feet embarrassed.
"Why- oh no the fuck not. Did you think I was flirting with you?" Katsuki questions in realisation, looking at Izuku in disbelief.
"I can uh- explain, okay?" Izuku shakily responds with an awkward laugh, rubbing his nape softly.
"Ewww, not that there is something wrong in being gay but like I've known you for hardly two days why would you think I would flirt with you?" Katsuki asks with a contorted expression on his face.
"I dont know, okay? I just immediately assumed that you did, cause you just casually walked up and called me baby." Izuku defends himself with a pout and cute angrily folded hands
"I didn't call you baby, I called you a baby, I literally used that as an insult, not like a pick up line!" Katsuki answers with a groan.
"Do you mean I'm not worthy to date?" Izuku asks softly.
"What? No! Of course not! I mean how would I know? I've known you for like less than 48 hours and I know nothing about your past relationships!" Katsuki tries to explain.
It felt weird to him, he never apologises nor explains it's just not his job! Why would he care if some random extra felt hurt because of him? So he never did, but for some reason he felt like he should to a stranger he knew for like 2 days.
Was it because of his captivating green eyes? Or was it his freckles that pop out every time he smiles or blushes? Or was it just him in general?
Katsuki didn't know. More like he didn't want to know. Cause it was dumb.
