I had a big problem. Today, I had to meet the guy from a couple days ago. What is it that he wants? Maybe I think too much of it, but I haven't told Charlie or Jamie. I am just scared they won't let me go.
Does it have something to do with the gang? I can just hope it isn't. This whole gang thing is getting really scary. I think someone knows of the letters. I mean, why would they suddenly speak to me when I never even have seen them.
I look at the clock. It is almost time and my heart begins to race.
"Jamie, I am going to the park okay?"
"What are you going to do there?" he asked with narrowed eyes. I know he doesn't trust the situation. He is too smart to just let me go.
"Just chill a little bit. I have to get out of the house." I lied.
"Maybe I can go with you."
"No, I'm fine Jamie. You don't have to follow me wherever I go." I am beginning to get a little bit irritated. I am not five years old.
"No, I don't. I just don't trust it around here anymore. There are dangerous things going on Chloe, and I don't want you to get involved." He sighed and looks down. "I don't want to lose you too. Just be careful."
I nodded and put on my jacket. I walked to the door when I heard Jamie calling me.
"If something happens, call me immediately." I rolled my eyes but agreed anyway. It is good to know he cares about me, unlike some other people.
My mom is never at home. Since my dad is gone, she is like a workaholic. She drowns herself in work, and because of that she is barely home. She is just like my dad now. It is starting to get on my nerves. Why can't she just be normal? Okay, it is not normal that your dad is murdered, and I know it is hard for my mom to except it, but she has to do it. I only have Jamie, Charlie and maybe Elliot right now.
I miss a female in my life. I need someone I could tell everything too. But I guess that's too much to ask for.
Unconsciously I walked to the park. I checked my watch and see it is five for one. I patiently sat down on the bench and wait. My thoughts drifted back to yesterday.
After Elliot picked me up again, we went to his house and played some video games. Sometimes he would touch my hand or hugged me, and then I felt a weird feeling from inside. I don't think I still have feelings for him, but maybe I do. It is such a long time, and I guess I have to get used to having him in my life again.
On the other hand, he can be my dad's murderer. It is highly unusual, but there is a chance. I mean, I don't think he would ever do something like that, but hey, people change. There is only one way to find out. Solve the mystery. My dad constantly write "Nothing's as it seems" so it would be a little bit too obvious if it was Elliot. Maybe-. My thoughts were cut short then I heard a voice.
"So I see you came, and alone. That's brave. Don't worry, I won't do anything to you. Just listen." I want to turn my head but a pair of hands stop me. "Don't turn around. I'd like to be anonymous."
"What do you want from me?" I heard a loud laugh after I asked that.
"You are straight to the point, I like that. The only thing I want is my one million dollar back."
Oh, that's what this is about! "Excuse me, but I don't see what I have to do with that?"
"Oh silly girl, because your father is dead, he can't give it to me. So that leaves you and Jamie. Personally I think you are much more capable of getting it back so I chose you." he chuckled as if he just told a very good joke.
"Look, I don't care who you are or what my father did to you and your gang. I have nothing to do with that, so leave me out of it. I don't want to talk to you and I can't help you. Goodbye." I stood up and walked away when I heard the click of a gun. I froze in my spot.
"I don't think so. Sit down or I shoot you. And trust me, I am not afraid to kill." I silently sat down.
"Now, that's better. You are going to do exactly as I say, understand?" I could only nod.
"You get three months to get my money back. I will check on you from time to time, to see if you don't play a game. If I see you try to get out of it, I will haunt you down and kill your loved ones. If you succeed, I will leave you alone for the rest of your life. If you don't.. well, let's say it is not a pleasant surprise."
I am in so much trouble now. "How the hell do you think I can get one million dollars in three months? Are you out of your mind?"
"That's your problem. Be creative. This is all because of your precious daddy. If he didn't stole my money, you wouldn't have this problem right now." He laughed silently.
"Did you kill my dad?" I ask him. I needed answers.
"You are dumber than I thought you were. Of course not. How would I get my money if I killed your dad? That would be just plain stupid. I was going to kill him after he brought us the money, but he was already dead before he could pay us one dollar. It's a bummer though, I think it would've been very interesting if he was still alive." I could just hear him smirk.
"But that's not the point, he is already gone. Now it is your job. I always know where to find you. Good luck."
I heard footsteps walking away and I turned around as fast as I could. I saw no one. The whole park was empty. How could he get away so fast?
I think it is for the best if I just go home and tell Jamie everything. Yeah, he has to help me.

"Shit Chloe. What are we going to do?"
Jamie sat on his bed with his head in his hands. I called Charlie, so he should be here anytime.
"I don't know Jamie. All I know is that I have to do this. You know I do." He sighed and shook his head.
"But what if something happens to you? What should I do then? Chloe, this whole thing is getting out of hand. I don't want to get through with this."
"I don't think I have choice Jamie. What if he kills you because of my fault? How would I be able to live with that huh? No, my choice is made. I do this thing."
Charlie walked into the room with a frown on his face. "I thought about it, and I have an idea. It is dangerous, but we have to try it." Jamie and I listened to what he was going to say. "I should join 'Criminal minds'. If I join now, I will be able to get to learn how to get easy money. I have to learn to shoot with a gun, to fight, to deal and to steal, but it should be worth it."
"There is no way I am going to let you go on your own. This is my fight so we should go together." I suggested. I want to do this, but it will be dangerous and a lot of work.
"NO!" Jamie screamed. "I am not going to let you go in there and practically murder yourself! This is madness."
"Jamie, she is with me." Charlie said. "They wouldn't do anything to me, I promise. I protect her with my life alright? Please let us do this. We need you outside the gang to get us information. When we are in there, they will follow us wherever we go. That means we need you to get us stuff we need. We are going undercover. We basically are going to steal from them. We will do two things at the same time."
"Yeah, but there is one problem." I started. "The person who spoke to me is a member of Criminal minds. And I guess it is a little bit suspicious if I join them now."
"You're right." Charlie thought about it, and suddenly, there was a wide smile on his face. "We go as other persons. We change our appearance and names, so they won't recognize us."
"Yeah, that's a good idea!" I looked over at Jamie. "Jamie, please, help us with this." He didn't look satisfied but he knew just as well as I that we had to do this.
"Okay, but is something happens to her, I kill you Charlie. And that's a promise."
Charlie chuckled a bit and nodded. "So, we join them in a couple of days. I think we should find more letters first."
I knew what we had to do, and this time, I wasn't afraid anymore. It was time to fight back. Revenge, was never so sweet.
