I looked out of my window, the rain dripping against it. The cold and dark clouds gave the streets a scary look. I wasn't used to the weather and people in England, not even after three years.

Every time when I felt sad or alone, I would sit in the window frame and look outside. I would think about everything that has happened in the last three years and about how much my life changed. There were so many things I could never forget, or where I had nightmares about. I would often see Max in my dreams, standing in front of me, alive and well. But then I would realize it was all a dream and the sadness would kick in.

But that didn't hide the fact that it was one of the most beautiful nights I've seen since I am here. The moon is shining bright and there were millions of stars, lighting up the sky. A small smile appeared on my face as I looked up at the sky. I was drowning in my thoughts when a sudden movement in my eye pulled me out of them.

I looked down at a dark figure on the streets. It wasn't there a couple of minutes ago. It seemed to be staring right at me and shivers ran down my spine. I leaned a little forward, trying to see this man's face, but it was too dark to see.

When the person stepped into the light of the lamppost, a part of his face showed. The only thing I could see was a dot of brown hair, peeking from under his hoody and a pair of dark eyes. I narrowed my eyes, not afraid of this man. The corner of his lip was pulled upwards and a smirk unfolded itself.

He pointed at me and then into his eyes, signaling that he was watching me. I raised an eyebrow, not impressed by him. I crossed my arms over my chest and smirked back at him. I stretched out my fingers and bowed them a little.

I am not afraid.

His smirk widened and he slowly pulled back into the darkness. Step by step, he walked towards the forest, his face slowly disappearing in the dark.

When he was finally gone, my thoughts spinned around in my head.
Who was this man and what did he want from me?

I decided to let it slip and get back to sleep. When I safely laid in my bed, I closed my eyes. I was almost drifting into sleeping when my eyes spread wide open. How come I was so stupid to not think of this?

All the missing pieces came together in my head. All the things that happened to me in the past three years came rushing back and the unsolved mysteries clicked together.

Why didn't I see this earlier?

I sat up in bed and stared at my window. The man's figure seemed familiar. It was a long time ago though, from the time when I still lived in America, so I could be wrong, but I don't think so. I walked to my cupboard and opened a drawer. I picked up the old picture and wiped away some dust.

I looked at the man on my right and at the color of his hair. A smirk appeared on my face when I saw I was right and that it wasn't an illusion. I stroke my hand over the figure and smiled.

You and your mysteries. Always trying to lead people on, but I finally know. I finally know the truth.

We shall meet again soon and I can't wait until that moment arrives,
