Seo Haeyul was an ordinary college student who is constantly wrestling with her college work. Amidst her hectic schedule, she still finds time to do what she loves most, visiting museums. One evening, after her visit to a famous museum about the leg...

SEO HAEYUL was currently in a garden, it was not the same garden she had accidentally intruded after dinner. This garden was bigger since it was the main garden and the flowers varies in colors, from red to purple. She glanced at the vampire beside her, Eve. Ever since Jungwon's order that day in the hallway, Eve has never left her side whenever she went out of her chamber. She basically follows her everywhere!
Of course, it was nice to have company for a while, but it grew unbearable for Haeyul because as much as she loves to interact with people, sometimes she just needs her time and space for her own.
Haeyul pressed her lips in annoyance. It has been a week! She has been trying to read time traveler book alone to avoid an arise of suspicions towards her, but with Eve tagging behind her most of the time, it was nearly impossible. Haeyul could only read peacefully right before she goes to bed. But by then, she would be way too exhausted to read the many paragraphs in the book.
"I'm feeling rather tired," Haeyul faked her best yawn, "would you mind if you leave me to take a nap?" She tried to come up with an excuse.
"I'll leave you after you enter your chamber." Good enough. "Alright." Haeyul answered and made her way through the halls quickly. She gave Eve a wide smile before entering her chamber, "Thank you for accompanying me today, Eve." She said.
Eve raised her brow at the human, "I will still accompany you for dinner tonight." She said.
Haeyul shook her head. "No need. I don't feel like having dinner later, I will probably be asleep anyway!" The brunette told, she tried to sound as reassuring as possible while knowing it was a lie. There is no way Haeyul would waste her precious time by sleeping.
The blonde-haired girl nodded in hesitation. "Do call me if you decide to go anywhere." Eve told and Haeyul gave a thumbs up, closing the door in front of her.
The girl waited a few seconds, waiting for the footsteps of Eve to fade away and cheered in victory once she was alone. "Okay, where was I?" She asked as she flipped through the pages.
- Tips: Hold onto your helper and imagine the setting of the place where you want to travel back, it would be much easier since you are gripping the helper in your hands.
What is a Helper?
A Helper is an object that helps time travelers to travel through time, whether they go back in time or move forward. Helpers are also known as Halpires, it was named by one of the very first time travelers to ever exists. These helpers usually blend in well with its environment. A Helper can disguise as anything really, it could be a necklace, robe, pictures, books, stationaries and so on. Only time travelers can identify whether a "normal" object is a Helper or not.
Put it this way, a wand is there to assist wizards and witches. They don't actually need a wand to perform magic, it only helps them to learn and control their magic better. It's the same theory with Time travelers and halpires. Unlike wizards and witches whose wand chooses its owner, time travelers can choose their own halpire.
It isn't difficult to use a halpire. You just need to create a bond with it first, then everything will go smoothly. Once you create a bond with a halpire, it can last forever. You might be wondering, it's an object, how can we create a bond with an object which doesn't have feelings?
I was truly amazed by the answers given to me from the time travelers I interviewed. One of them quoted, "A halpire might look like a mere object, but there's much more to it. Halpires can create a bond with its owner so strong that it beats some human relationships. It has a mind of its own and even if you don't remember your halpire, it will continue to remember you until the day you die. It's like a companion for life." Fascinating, isn't it?
I will venture more about how to create a bond with a halpire in the-
Haeyul shut the book and set it aside, her brows furrowed as she processed all the information in her head. A Halpire? Was there a particular object that struck out to her the day before she traveled into this timeline?
She clapped her hands as her eyes widened in realization. "The pen!" She gasped as she sprung to her feet. Could it possibly have transported here with her? A glint of hope flashed in her brown eyes. Haeyul began searching her surroundings, from the study table to her bed, even under the carpet.
A small smile plastered her face as a sense of deja vu overcame her. "I have been searching for things way too much." Haeyul deadpanned.
She sat down on the carpet as her smile slowly turned into a pout. She looked under the bed one last time and sighed in disappointment. Unsurprisingly, the halpire isn't there. Haeyul groaned in vexation as she lied down on the floor, punching her hands in the air. She probably looks stupid right now, but she couldn't care less. She was beyond annoyed, what's the use of reading the book if she doesn't even have the objects she needs.
Haeyul checked the sky outside and opened the windows, a gush of cold wind blew against her, and she exhaled. Even though she stayed in a castle, Haeyul still finds herself having nothing to do. She spends most of her time either in her chamber or the garden and it bore her.
In the corner of her eyes, Haeyul caught a glimpse of a town. She blinked her eyes blankly. It must be abandoned or something, but she was proven wrong when she saw a carriage emerged from the town's gate, making their way where the castle is. "Outsiders.."
The girl rolled her eyes and shut the window closed. This means Haeyul would be cooped up in her room until the outsiders leave the castle. Haeyul shrugged, it won't affect her anyway. She laid on the bed and closed her eyes. Maybe sleep isn't such a bad idea.
