Seo Haeyul was an ordinary college student who is constantly wrestling with her college work. Amidst her hectic schedule, she still finds time to do what she loves most, visiting museums. One evening, after her visit to a famous museum about the leg...

THE SILVER-HAIRED vampire threw the chair across the room, barely missing Haeyul, who flinched tremendously at the loud sound. Prince Heeseung had dismissed all of the guards, ordering them to patrol the grounds, leaving only the nine of them in the throne room. Elena suppressed her cries as she gripped her black dress in fear, her figure shaking uncontrollably.
Haeyul wished to comfort her, but she didn't dare to move. Not when Sunghoon was wildly throwing random objects all across the room. The prince had gone barbaric when he heard Evelyn was taken. His brothers had made various attempts to extinguish the burning flame inside his heart, but all of it went in vain.
Another vase shattered as Sunghoon gripped a marbled yellow vase in his hands. He threw it against the wall and Haeyul winced, a stinging pain was felt on her arm.
She noticed red liquid travelled down her elbow. One of the vase shards had penetrated her skin. She cursed under her breath as she tried to wipe it away before any more come out. Fortunately for her, none of the vampires has noticed her injury. She scooted to the pair of concrete doors, hiding her elbow behind her.
"You should calm down, Hoon." Jake broke the tension, finally speaking.
Jay agreed. "You wouldn't be able to find a solution that way."
Meanwhile Prince Jungwon, who was standing next to Jay, sensed a tingling scent in his nose. His eyes shimmered in red as he shuts it closed. Blood. He smelt blood in the room. Before any of his brothers noticed, he searched his surrounding in hopes to find the source of smell and his eyes landed on particular brunette. He made his way beside her and quickly rushed out of the room with her in his arms.
Haeyul didn't have any time to react when all of the sudden, she was in his arms going to who knows where. "Jungwon, what are you doing?!" She hits his chest. "You're bleeding." "That doesn't concern you. Also, someone might see us and misunderstand the situation!" Haeyul scolded.
Jungwon set her on a table when they arrived in a spacious office. Haeyul guessed it was Jungwon's office. "What if one of those guards tattle tale to Princess Aene?" Haeyul pressed.
The prince clenched his jaw and slammed his hand on the table, trapping the girl between his arms. "Does it matter?" He arched his brows as he leaned forward. "I can silence them with a flick of my hand and if they dare to disobey me, I can easily rip them apart."
Haeyul turned away as she was unable to stand the close distance between them. "Still, you are to be wed. If anyone reports to Princess Aene about you carrying me in your arms, I'd be as good as dead." She stated, crossing her arms.
"You know," Jungwon said, "It's impolite to not look at people when you're talking." The girl rolled her eyes and faced the man bravely. "You sound like my-" But who knew that he would be standing so close to her? Haeyul's breath hitched as she saw his face only a few inches away from hers. She was so close to him until she can see the smallest details in his eyes. Unlike Sunghoon's eyes which reflects anger, his eyes were calm and mysterious. Mahogany dust glided smoothly in his onyx orbs, entrancing the girl into the shadows beneath his eyes.
"What?" Jungwon's deep voice rumbled in her ear causing her to shiver, "Cat got your tongue?" A playful smirk plastered on his lips, earning a scoff from Haeyul.
She masked an annoyed glare as she pushed him by the chest, scooting backwards. The prince wore a victorious expression on his face and took an ointment from a nearby shelf. "This should aid your wound quickly."
He handed the ointment to the seated girl, and she gladly accepted it. "Thanks." She mumbled as she applied the tacky ointment on top of the open slit. A sharp hiss left her lips as she grimaced in pain.
"It hurts?" Haeyul nodded at Jungwon's question. "You think?"
Jungwon walked over to her and crouched down in front of her. He took the ointment away from the latter and began carefully brushing it over her wound. Haeyul let out a few cries as she unconsciously gripped his arm tenaciously. "Take your hand off." Jungwon ordered but even so, Haeyul continued to hold his arm.
The prince heaved a sigh. Why must humans be so weak?
Once he was done, he stood up and stored the ointment away while Haeyul's eyes watched every move he made. Her brows drew together in confusion. Why did he help her? He's a vampire, a species that loves blood.
"You.." Haeyul trailed off, "Why did you do that?" She asked in a serious tone.
Jungwon faced her, shrugging his shoulders. "You were bleeding and that could attract many vampires." He simply answered. Haeyul jumped down from the desk as she walked closer to the latter, "But you're a vampire too," "So?" "You could have hurt me." "Did I though?"
His answer irritated the human as she clicked her tongue. "You could have killed me then and there just like you have always wanted." She confidently claimed, stepping closer to him with skepticism evident on her face. "You could have just left me to fend for myself and I would've been fine-"
"Because not all vampires are like me." Haeyul came to a silence as his words snapped in the air. "They won't give a damn about you and devour you in a span of minutes." He stepped forward, closing the gap between them. "None of them will aid you like how I just did. None of them will be able to." Haeyul stumbled back at the impact of his body against hers.
"No one will be able to control themselves." Jungwon glowered, towering down to be in the same eye level with the girl.
"What about you?" Haeyul managed to say, "You're controlling it now." She saw his gaze falling on her neck for a split second before looking up to her eyes. "Barely." He whispered so faintly until Haeyul didn't manage to hear it.
"Sorry, what?" Haeyul frowned.
Prince Jungwon straightened his back, heading to the door, "Starting from today, I will be accompanying you whenever you're going out of the castle's boarders." He informed. Haeyul's jaw dropped as she heard his declaration.
What!? "Hell no!" She exclaimed, clearly, she was very against the thought of her going to the field with him. That would be way too awkward. Besides, taking a walk in the field is a form of therapy for Haeyul. If Jungwon joins her, it won't be serene at all. Jungwon was unbothered by her protests and left the room.
Haeyul punched the air in frustration as she imagined herself beating the particular vampire up. One day, hopefully.
