THE BRUNETTE'S EYES was unable to focus on one subject as shouts filled her ears left and right. She was confused on who to listen to first. Several maids crowded her, leaving her no space to move as they chatter about a topic that she was foreign to.

Haeyul sighed.
Just a few moments ago, Haeyul was having a peaceful afternoon. She was trimming the bushes in the main garden since it was her duty today. When all of the sudden, a group of girls surrounded her, asking her questions that she barely understood.

"SEO HAEYUL!!" A familiar voice boomed the garden and the crowd silenced. The human watched as her two friends, Elena and Eve, marched their way towards her.

Elena reached for her collar and fumed, "Why didn't you tell me?!" She exclaimed. Huh? "We tell you everything, yet you have the audacity to keep this away from us!"
"And it's such an important matter." Eve added.

Haeyul's eyes widened slightly as she heard Eve support Elena's sentence. Since when did they get along so well?

"What do you mean..?" Haeyul's smooth voice contrasted their angry ones. "I don't know what you're on about." She told as she continued trimming the leaves.

"You're going to the ritual as Jungwon's partner. Are you not?"
The pruners dropped on the grass, taking everyone by surprise except for the human. Haeyul stared at Elena blankly, her sentence replaying in her head continuously. "What?"

"I'm going to the ritual as Jungwon's partner?" Haeyul repeated as if it could help her in understanding the situation.

"Yes!" One of the maids answered, "And the news spread in the region already."

What. What the hell. Haeyul glanced at the silver-haired girl for confirmation and the vampire nodded her head. She knew Jungwon was going to accompany her for the entire night, but she didn't know she would be going as his partner!

"But what about Princess Aene?" Haeyul asked, a look of determination overtook her face.

"Apparently his Highness didn't inform the princess beforehand. I heard she's making her way to the castle now as we're speaking. Everyone said she looked infuriated."
There goes her peaceful day. Haeyul heaved a sigh as pain burst in her head causing her to wince.

In a blink of an eye, Haeyul found herself sitting on a couch. She had seen it before. It was the same couch from the place where she had teatime with Jay, Jake and Jungwon. Her eyes landed on the book she was holding. She flipped the book and read the cover. "Vanity Wall." She read.

She felt a shift on her thigh, diverting her gaze to the heavy weight. She was greeted by Jungwon's face as he looked at her with concern. "Everything alright, love?" His voice sounded different. It sounded calmer than it was before.

The brunette soon realized she was in one of her dreams. Great... She had to deal with Princess Aene and Jungwon's love story in her dream.

When she opened her mouth to reply, a knock interrupted their conversation and the butler entered, bowing to them. "Your Highness, My Lady, forgive me for intruding your time together. King Jungwon has been summoned by Prince Heeseung in the meeting room." He informed.

Haeyul looked at Jungwon and gave him a reassuring smile while the latter quietly sighed, bringing himself to stand up. "I'm on my way." He told and left the room.

Once the human was left alone in the room, she abruptly stood up and searched the room. Is she dreaming about the future or past? This question has been boggling her mind ever since she found out about her feelings towards Jungwon. In hopes of finding her answer, Haeyul searched for a book that she had read before. Its cover won't manipulate time.

She pulled out the velvet blue book and felt the texture of the cover with her fingers. The inks had faded, and the edges of the paper has darkened—exactly how a book would look when it ages. So, she is in the future.

Sliding the book back into its place, Haeyul pursed her lips, bopping her head slowly.

As she walked past a mirror, her body paused.
She slowly turned towards the mirror. She never saw her appearance in this state before, so it was safe to say she was curious on how she looked like- or how Princess Aene looked like.

What she didn't expect was to see herself in the mirror. Her hair was the same, but her skin was fairer, and her eyes...it wasn't the dark brown eyes she was used to seeing. She saw golden swirls flowing in her brown orbs, reflecting a golden oak color. The most distinct difference about her was the bite mark displayed on her shoulder.

Her vision blurred momentarily as realization settled in. She had become a vampire in the future and if she wasn't mistaken, Jungwon is her lover. They had two kids- twins, one boy and one girl. All along she was dreaming of herself.

The human gasped as she collected herself. She was expecting any emotion to overwhelm her but all she felt was relief rushing through her. Relief.

"His Highness has scheduled a dress fitting for you, can you believe it?"
Haeyul smiled. "Then what are we waiting for? Let's go."
