A SMILE OF satisfaction painted the girl's lips as her eyes stared at the chamber. She had been spending all night, cleaning her room and she was contented to say the least. The once dim room had more candles to light up the area, it was refreshing for her eyes. She had moved a few furniture to her liking, even though it took most of her energy.
Haeyul was exhausted. Her back hit the duvet as she sighed in relief, feeling her muscles relax. Her eyes peeped through the small crack from the curtains. From the looks of it, morning has probably arrived, but she wouldn't know. She had no source of time without a watch.
Suddenly, Haeyul heard someone knocking the door. Haeyul fixed her position and set on the edge of the bed. The door opened, revealing Eve, who was too occupied with the bed sheets in her hands to notice Haeyul's stare on her. Once Eve noticed the wide-awake human, she jumped slightly out of surprise.
"Why are you awake in such ungodly hours?!" Her brows knitted together as she settled the bed sheets on the desk.
The brunette smiled sheepishly. "I couldn't sleep..?" Haeyul said—though it sounded more like a question rather than an answer.
Eve put her hands on her hips, raising her brow suspiciously. "Did something happen?"
Haeyul shook her head. "Nope, nothing happened." Except for the garden incident, but Eve didn't need to know that. The human smiled and walked over towards the maid. "Anyway, what is this for?" Haeyul asked, referring to the heap of bedsheets.
"I was ordered to clean your room and organize it to your liking." She shortly answered.
Haeyul's mouth shaped into an 'o', "Do you need any help?" She offered but was immediately rejected. Eve shook her head, "This is assigned for me, you should take a bath and relax." She told.
"Are you sure? I can help you know."
"I know you can, but I'd prefer for you to use the time to bath.""Just leave this to me." Eve sternly said.
Haeyul meekly nodded and walked into the bathroom. What happened to the Eve who blushed with every comment Haeyul said about Choi Yeonjun? She shrugged it off and filled the bath, her eyes landed on a familiar object placed on top of the countertop. It was the scent blocker Jay gifted her last night. She reminded herself to wear it after she finished her bath.

Seo Haeyul walked down the hallway as her mind lingered on her past memories. Are her friends and family searching for her? Or did they not realize the absence of her presence yet? If it were the latter, she would be really disappointed. If only she had her phone with her, then she could message her friend to help her figure out her situation.
The girl let out a groan when she hit a hard wall- or so she thought, "Ouch-" She rubbed her nose. She opened her eyes and paused. She didn't hit a wall—no, that was far from it, she had bumped into Prince Jungwon.
Jungwon's eyes widened for a split second before he pushed himself closer towards Haeyul. The action caught Haeyul off guard. She could feel Jungwon's well-built muscles under his clothes against her which she blushed at. The prince leaned down to her face, their distance dissipating and she could feel him breath on her. Haeyul shuts her eyes tightly. What was going on??
"Hide."
Haeyul fluttered her eyes open at his short command. Her eyes stared at his obsidian ones in quandary. "W..what?" She managed to mutter. In that moment, she heard several footsteps walking closer to them. In a swift motion, Jungwon pushed her through a door which leads her to a balcony. Haeyul shivered at the sudden contact with the cold air. Her brain was trying to grasp the situation but with the shock rushing in her, it was laborious. The place where his cold body had been lingered on her warm one. She felt her face heat up in embarrassment.
"Get your head out of the gutter!" She scolded herself as her hand fanned over her face.
She shook her head and placed her ears near the tall door. She tried to eavesdrop the ongoing conversation, but it came out as muffled voices. Although, she could make out a thick accent on the unfamiliar male's voice.
"Prince Jungwon, you will reign as the king soon," The foreign man spoke, "Be on your best behavior 'til then."
Haeyul didn't hear Prince Jungwon's respond but whatever he said had angered the foreign man. "Until then, you are not king yet!" The foreigner shouted, "Do not talk to me with such arrogance!"
Haeyul heard loud angry footsteps echoed the hall, she pushed the door open and glanced around the hall. She hoped no one was there anymore. To her dismay, Prince Jungwon was still there. The girl noticed a tint of redness on his left cheek.
"Are you oka-"
"Next time, you must be accompanied by Miss Eve wherever you go."Haeyul's hands dropped beside her hips, "What?" She asked.
"I cannot have you roaming around the castle freely, risking the chances of an outsider spotting you." Jungwon told in an austere manner which Haeyul frowned at. As much as she fears vampires, she doesn't want someone to order her around.
"No one will know I'm a human or a time traveler unless someone snitches." She retorted. "Besides, I'm not even a-" She paused and shut her mouth. She really needs to think before she speaks.
Jungwon quirked his brow. "Continue."
Haeyul shook her hands and smiled nervously. "Actually, I think you have a point, Your Highness. Thank you for your kindness." She reluctantly abided his orders. The prince eyed her for a moment before striding pass her, leaving the human alone in the empty hallway. The brunette ran her hands through her hair out of agitation. "Why is he so annoying?!" She exclaimed. One day he would act as if she didn't exist and the other, he will invite her to dinner with his brothers. Maybe it was out of courtesy or maybe Heeseung had requested for her presence. Even so, it still made her angry. If only she wasn't afraid of the cold-blooded species, then he would have gotten a blue eye already.
Haeyul cleared her mind as she took a deep inhale. She shouldn't let him affect her. She will be leaving this timeline soon anyway. A smile crept up her face as the thought of reuniting with her family surfaced. Soon, she hoped.
