THE LONG- HAIRED girl stood in the middle of the hall, bodies pressed against each other as everyone tried to go to their destination. Haeyul grunted when an elbow stabbed her waist. That would leave a bruise, she thought. She pushed her way through as she marched forward as her desire to leave the packed hallway increased with every passing second.

"Sorry!" She exclaimed when she crashed into someone, a girl, causing her to fall on her bottom with a wail.

Haeyul bent her knee and offered a helping hand which the girl gratefully accepted. The maid swept her strands of hair behind her ears and dusted her skirt. "I didn't mean to make you fall, did you get hurt?"

The said girl shook her head, a bright smile replacing the previous stressed frown. "No worries, it's only a small fall. It won't hurt me." She shrugged. Haeyul doubted her. Judging from the loud sound earlier, it seemed like the fall hurts. Nevertheless, Haeyul simply agreed to her words.

"May I know where you are headed. miss..."
"Tana." The girl completed. "I was ordered to escort Princess Aene for her dress fitting today." Tana answered, "I need to hurry, or I'll be late!"

As Tana began to panic, Haeyul contemplated whether she should help the poor girl or not. With the condition of the current hallway, she wouldn't be able to make it in time. Haeyul breathed in as she mentally prepared herself, "I'm guessing the fitting room is near the east library?" She asked.
"Yes, it is. Why?"
"I might know another path, but it'll take longer which means we'll need to run."

"Run?" Tana repeated.
Haeyul grabbed Tana's hand and harshly pushed passed the swarm of people. This time she couldn't care less about accidentally hurting someone. She heard surprised complaints from the maid behind her, but she continued to walk through the crowd until they reached a place with lesser people.

Without stopping, the two girls ran past many corridors. They took many turns—left and right and climbed the stairs up and down. It felt like an endless journey for Tana, who struggled to keep up with the human's fast steps. Who knew humans can be so strong.

They slowly came to stop as they finally reached their destination. "We're here." Haeyul informed as she looked at Tana. Surprised infiltrated her face when she saw how Tana was struggling to catch her breath. "Are...you okay?"

Tana fixed her posture as she managed to smile even when her chest was rising up and down strenuously, "Just peachy!" She lied.

She cleared her throat and pushed open the door. Haeyul was forced to follow her into the room since her wrist was pulled by the girl.

To her surprise Princess Aene wasn't the only royalty to be present. There were three other princes to accompany her. One of them being the all too familiar Prince Jungwon. The four royalties diverted their attention to the door, their eyes meeting the two standing figures. Haeyul watched as the three princes looked at her with confusion, but Jungwon was the first to tear his eyes away.

The clacking sound of Princess Aene's heels resonated the room as she walked towards the two. Tana and Haeyul bowed to the princess and quickly rose up. "Good morning, your majesty." Tana greeted.

"You're late." The princess told. Haeyul fought the urge to roll her eyes. Only by two minutes. "I won't tolerate these actions next time."
"Yes, your majesty. We're sincerely sorry."

Contrasting to what Tana had just said, Haeyul didn't feel any ounce of guilt or sorry for her actions.

Princess Aene curtly nodded. "We shall get started."
Tana immediately went to assist the princess while Haeyul stayed put in front of the door. She wasn't supposed to be here. She was supposed to be helping Elena clean their room together. "Miss Seo!" Prince Sunoo walked over to her side, greeting her with his famous smile.

"Hi Sunoo." Haeyul said. The prince side eyed the princess who had gone into the dresser to try on the dresses and rolled his eyes, leaning on one of his legs. "Honestly, she is unbearable." He mumbled and Haeyul sniggered.

"You should watch your words, your majesty." The brunette scolded although deep down, she was enjoying it herself.
Sunoo scoffed, "Don't lie. You know how bad that girl can be. I don't know how Jungwon deals with her.." His face contorted in disgust as he imagined spending a whole day alone with the princess.
"Same."

"She always bats her lashes whenever she looks at Jungwon. Like- my goodness, it makes me want to punch her." Sunoo ranted in annoyance as he crossed his arms, his head bopping to the side as he imitates her actions causing Haeyul to snort. "You should have seen it- it was mortifying."

"Did she sway left and right like she normally does when she pleads for something from Jungwon?" Haeyul questioned, lowering her voice as she was scared it would be overheard by the others.

Sunoo's eyes widened as he recalled the memory. "Yes! Yes, she did!" He gasped, "You noticed that too?"
His question caused Haeyul raised her brows, her lips forming into a thin line. "How could I not? I honestly feel like throwing up whenever I have to watch her antics. I have made it her signature move" She gagged.

Sunoo laughed at her last sentence. The both of them came into a silent agreement as they shared a reassuring look. "What brings you here anyway?"

"Ah," Sunoo said, "me and Sunghoon were just sending off a file to Jungwon, but then that damn princess insisted on us staying with them." His back rested on the door as he told his story, "I tried to reject her 'kindness', but Sunghoon chose to accept her offer—only to spend more time with Jungwon."

The prince shook his head exhaled. "Anyway, you should go before the princess orders you around." He told.

Haeyul obliged, opening the door, waving a goodbye to Sunoo and left the room. A thought lingered in her mind as she recalled Sunoo's answer. Everyone gives great effort just to be close to Jungwon, yearning for the day when they can laugh and bicker like brothers again. Yet, because of Jungwon's tall walls, their wish is almost impossible. Haeyul knew Jungwon is a conservative man. He rarely speaks out about his problems which causes him to separate himself from the others but not to this extent.

"All they want is your love, Jungwon. Is that so hard?"
