"So, how was your day?"
THE RAVEN-HAIRED
PRINCE'S eyes locked with the girl's dark brown ones, his brows arched slightly in surprise as he straightened his back. Jungwon glanced around the room to make sure the question was really directed to him and not his brothers. When he saw Haeyul's gaze on him, he spoke, "It was...bearable."

No one has ever asked Jungwon a question about his activities unless for business purposes, so he was ambivalent about his answer to her question.

Haeyul simply nodded at his simple answer. An urge to ask more about his day washed over her as she saw his troubled expression, but she pressed her lips into a thin line. It would be uncanny of her to be intrigued about his day.

The room fell into a spiral of silence as Haeyul occupied herself by admiring the interior of the cozy room. Prince Jake, who has been observing Haeyul and Jungwon, smiled widely causing Jay to look at him weirdly. "What's wrong with you?"

"Don't you think they're cute?" Jake giggled, pointing at the pair. His triplet looked at where he was pointing, and his forehead puckered. "Haeyul and Jungwon?" Jay asked which Jake nodded in respond.

Prince Jay shrugged. "I don't see any romance between them."
"Not yet." Jake added.
The older brother sent a concerned look to Jake, who bopped his head carefreely. "I think you should get yourself a princess, your standard for romance has terribly gone down after spending too many years alone." Jay directly spoke his mind.

"You're describing yourself, aren't you?"

With Jake's remark, Jay puffed up his chest, glaring at the latter. Jake smiled and lied back on the cushioned seat, springing his feet on top of Jay's lap.

Meanwhile, Jungwon and Haeyul were in their own world, unbothered by the ongoing quarrel. Jungwon checked the darkness of the sky through the window. It has turned dark as the moon began to rise in the evening. His eyes gazed at the shining satellite; it was the waxing gibbous moon.

His jaw tightened as he recalled about the upcoming rite. He took a quick glance at the girl, who is sitting peacefully with her eyes fixed on the tall clock, he felt his hand shook ever so slightly. He needed to ensure her safety when the rite starts, or else..

"Can you not worry so much?" A voice invaded his head space. Jungwon recognized it quickly. The hoarse voice chuckled, "I'm trying to sleep but your thoughts have been infiltrating my mind."

"Sorry." Jungwon responded.
"We'll figure something out for her, you should rest while you can." Heeseung reassured the prince, even though he knew he wouldn't be able to convince the hard-headed boy so easily.

Jungwon hummed and faced his two brothers, who to his surprise, have stopped bickering. If Sunghoon was here with them, then a ruckus might have happened.

A knock echoed in the room as the door opened, the same maid stepping inside the room with a tray in her hands. Haeyul jumped up to her feet and helped the girl by taking the silver tray from her hands. "Thank you for the tea. I'll send the tray down myself later." She thanked.
The maid smiled gratefully and bowed before making her leave.

"Help yourself." Haeyul said, offering the tea to each vampire, including Jungwon.
Jungwon accepted the tea, not understanding her behavior. Why was she so nice today? Where did her hot-tempered self go?

Jungwon's hand raised up to the girl's forehead, his free hand touching her bare forehead. Haeyul shot her eyes up at the prince, clearly surprised by his actions. Their eyes locked once again as they immersed themselves in each other's orbs. Oddly finding comfort.

Snapping into reality, Jungwon pulled his hand away as he cleared his throat.

What in the world is wrong with him?
He sipped his tea, acting as if nothing had just happened while Jake silently giggled at the small interaction between the two. "Did you see that?" He asked, nudging Jay's shoulder.

"See what?"
"Jungwon raised his hand and touched Haeyul's forehead."
Jay blinked his eyes multiple times, staring at the man beside him. "Jake, I think you're hallucinating."
"I swear it happened!" He softly exclaimed and Jay rolled his eyes.

"What was that?" Haeyul muttered as she touched her forehead, glancing at Jungwon. "Has he gone insane or something?" She huffed out in vex, putting the tray down on the small table. Although she was complaining about the interaction, she couldn't ignore her heart which thumps against her chest fiercely.

"Get a grip Haeyul-ah." She scolded herself.
