When I got home I collapsed on my bed and stared up at the ceiling. We almost kissed. I could feel my heart start to race at the thought of her lips on mine.

I flipped over onto my stomach and groaned as put my head in my hands. Tomorrow's gonna be fun.

As soon as I stepped outside I felt three pairs of eyes on me - Kim, Beth, and Viv.

Viv ran over to me and put her arm around my shoulders. "So y/n, did you and Leah have a good night?" She smirked. I turned to look at her and gave her a death stare.

"Shut up Viv, you're not funny." She just laughed and ran back over to Beth while I flipped them both off.

I walked over to Kim. As soon as she noticed me she started laughing, so I flipped her off too. She gave me a shocked face and gasped. "See for that y/l/n, 15 push-ups"

I looked at her and laughed, "You can't make me do that."

She smirked, "Yes I can, I'm the captain." I sighed and got down on the floor.

15 push-ups later Jonas called us over to tell us what we were doing today.

"Get into pairs, one defending and one attacking. I want the attackers to try and get past the defenders and I want the defenders to stop the attackers." He looked at us all and then called me over.

"Y/n, you won't be starting against Everton, however you will get minutes. If you prove that you're good enough then we might reconsider starting you for the next match." He said. I knew this was going to happen anyway.

"All good sir." I looked up and saw Leah come outside late. She was never late.

She walked over to Jonas and I. "I'm sorry I'm late, slept in."

"Don't let it happen again Williamson. You can partner up with Y/n, she'll explain what we're doing." Leah agreed and walked over to me.

"You okay Leah?" I asked. I leant down and got a ball from the bag and walked over with her to find some space.

She looked at me and then looked away. Strange. "I'm fine, what are we doing."

I was confused, last night we were so close. I mean we almost kissed. And now it was like she was mad at me. I didn't think I had done anything to piss her off. Or if I did I certainly couldn't remember it.

I shrugged it off and explained what we were doing.

I had the ball and I was doing lots of footwork to try and get past Leah whilst she was sticking her foot in and trying to get the ball off me. Suddenly she tripped over the ball and fell forwards.

"Woah!" I said while I caught her in my arms, "You okay?" I continued.

"I'm fine. Let's keep going." She said. She pushed herself off of me and looked down. She looked mad, but I didn't want to ask.

"Okay." I shrugged.

After this we spilt up into two teams and played a game. This time Leah was on my team.

We won this time 3-2, and I had managed to score two of the three goals. I wanted to prove to Jonas that I could start in games and that I was good enough. When I walked past him to the changing rooms he smiled and nodded at me.

We had gym time today too so after changing we all walked up to the gym and spilt up into little groups with people who were doing similar things. Fortunately it was also upper body day for Leah too. Maybe I would be able to ask her what was up.

I walked over to the dumbbells and grabbed two. I looked over my shoulder and saw Leah walking over. "You following me Williamson?" I asked with a chuckle.

"No. Why would I be following you?" She replied with a harsh tone. I put down my two dumbbells and turned to her. She was not going to talk to me like that and not tell me what was wrong.

"Leah what is it?" I asked seriously. She avoided my gaze, instead choosing to look at the dumbbells she picked up like they were the most interesting thing in the world.

"Nothing y/n." She clenched her jaw, and as much as I was concerned about her, it was the most attractive thing I had ever seen.

"Well no, there's clearly something wrong. You've barely said two words to me since last night." I replied, determined to find out what was wrong.

"Just go lift you weights and leave me alone." She put the dumbbells back and walked over to the bench press. I followed her.

When she saw me she rolled her eyes. "Go away." She said.

"No, if you're gonna bench you need a spotter." I mean I was right you were meant to have someone spot you when benching, but that wasn't strictly the only reason I was over there, and Leah knew this.

"Look I'm not gonna leave you alone until you tell me what's up with you."

"Oh go and ask your girlfriend." She scoffed and got up. She walked out of the gym and a couple of the girls looked around at each other trying to figure out what was wrong.

I was so fucking confused. Why the hell would she think I had a girlfriend? And who the hell did she think I was dating? I rubbed my hands down my face and followed her outside. Was this why she was so mad at me all day?

I caught her at the water fountain filling up her bottle - that quite clearly didn't need filled up. When she saw me she turned to leave but I grabbed her hand to stop her.

"What did you mean by telling me to go ask my girlfriend?" I asked softly, not wanting to anger her anymore.

She turned around and faced me again, "That's exactly what I meant."

I dropped her hand and put my hands on my hips. "Well Leah, you see the issue is that I don't currently have a girlfriend." I raised an eyebrow at her and she went slightly red in the face, like she had been caught out.

"What? I thought you were dating Kim?" She asked.

I immediately burst out laughing. I couldn't contain myself. "Me and Little. Haha no, never gonna happen. She's like an annoying distant cousin." I replied while I was still laughing.

"Oh. Sorry I thought you guys were dating." She replied. She looked down and played with her fingers. I felt so bad, she looked so embarrassed and I was stood laughing at her.

I reached over and grabbed her hands. She looked back up at me and smiled slightly. "Is this why you were being a moody Margaret all day?" I asked.

"I was not." She scoffed. She looked over to the side and looked back. I smirked at her, "You were so." She let go of my hands and hit me on the side of my arm. "Ouch Williamson, that fucking hurt." I laughed, feigning pain.

"For real though Leah, what made you think Little and I were dating?" I asked.

"I don't know, you guys are always so close and I just thought that maybe there was something there." She shrugged. Clearly she wanted this conversation to stop.

"You couldn't be any more wrong." I laughed, "Anyway let's get back in that gym and work those muscles."
