It was time for the world cup play offs and I had been called up to play for Scotland, and as much as this excited me it meant being away from Leah. When I told her she was obviously so happy for me but I could tell that she was a bit upset about me leaving.

She was currently up at my flat while I packed to go up to Scotland.

"We always knew this was going to happen. I was always going to play for Scotland and you were always going to play for England." I comforted her after she had gotten a bit upset about us possibly having to play each other in the tournament.

"I know, I know. But it doesn't stop me from feeling like this." She replied.

I nodded as I zipped my suitcase shut. Leah had really helped me with packing, there was no pile of clothes this time.

"Will you be okay on the plane?" She asked, her voice full of concern. I felt myself starting to blush, she was upset about me leaving but she still cared so much about how I would be. No one had ever cared about me this much.

"Yeah. Kim and Jen are gonna be with me, and I'll text you as soon as I land in Glasgow." She smiled sadly and pulled me into her.

"I'm gonna miss you." She mumbled into my neck. I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her further into me.

"I'll miss you too. We can Facetime everyday."

We separated and shared a kiss before we both walked out of my flat. Leah drove me to the airport where the girls were waiting.

As I opened the door I turned back around and grabbed Leah's face. I connected our lips, our noses bumped as I caressed her cheeks. "I love you." I mumbled into the kiss. We pulled back and Leah rested her forehead on mine with her eyes half closed and panting.

"I love you too." I smiled and pulled back.

"I better get going, I'll text you later." We said our goodbyes and I walked into the airport to check in and find Little and Beattie.

"Y/L/N!" I heard Kim shout as I approached them. They were sitting on the seats in our gate. "You excited?" Asked Jen as she moved her stuff off of the seat next to her so I could sit down.

"Very."

"How was your training?" I was on Facetime to Leah after my first training session back with Scotland. We had our first game against Austria tomorrow, and I was nervous.

"It went good. It was great to see all the girls again. How was yours?" I asked.

Leah walked over to her bed and smiled, I looked at her and noticed that she was wearing my hoodie. "Great, everyone's looking really good." She replied.

I smirked, "Is that my hoodie Miss Williamson?"

Her face went bright red. I saw her phone drop so that all I could see was the ceiling and heard her let out a massive groan. "Yeah." She replied after recovering.

"You look good in my clothes." She went red again. I giggled. "I miss you." I continued. I let out a sad smile as Leah and I stared at each other.

"I love you." Leah replied. I turned over to my side, using my arm as a pillow. Leah done the same thing. Her hair fell over her face and I had the urge to tuck it behind her ears, but I couldn't.

I let out a sigh and looked at the wall of the room I was staying in. It was a sort of cream colour and the back wall had a white geometric wallpaper. It looked bougie. It amazed me for a second that I was actually here, doing this, being a footballer. I never imagined that my life would amount to this, I thought that I would just grow up and work as a Tesco employee or something.
