After staying at Leah's parents for the night I came home while Leah stayed. The drive home was amazing, I hadn't experienced a day that good in years. Leah's family had made me feel welcomed and loved, something that I had never really experienced from my own.As I pulled into my flat I noticed a familiar car parked in my space. "Oh you've got to be fucking kidding me." I mumbled to myself as I confirmed my suspicions. It was definitely my mum's car, and as soon as she spotted me she got out of her car and walked up to me.
"Did you actually just drive down to London?" I questioned her. That was at least a 10 hour drive from her house.
"Of course I did y/n. When my only daughter blocks my number what else am I supposed to do?" She started to raise her voice. "You could've been dead for all I knew!" She continued.
"Did you ever stop to think that I blocked your number because I didn't want to see you!" I shouted as I slammed my car door shut and stormed up to my flat building. She followed me.
I stopped walking and turned around. "No, go away."
"So you're just going to turn your poor mother that had to drive for hours to see you away?" She scoffed.
I nodded. "No one asked you to come." I harshly replied. She continued to follow me and I sighed as I realised that I wasn't going to be able to get rid of her. It was easier just to work with her rather than fighting.
"Fine." I grumbled as we began to walk up to my flat.
We walked into my flat and I walked through to the kitchen while my mum walked into the living room and sat on the couch. "You know, this place could really use some decorations." She commented as I sat down with a bottle of water.
"Yeah well, I've been kind of busy." I replied as I took a sip of my water, trying to calm down. I was just thankful that she decided to show up when Leah wasn't here. God that would've been messy.
"Why are you here anyway?" I asked calmly, not wanting to start another argument. She sighed and leant forward so that her elbows were resting on her knees.
"I wanted to check up on you." She looked at me and smiled. My relationship with my mum wasn't always bad, there was times when she was okay, but that was very rare.
"Is that it?" I replied suspiciously.
She looked away from me and put her head in her hands. "Look I don't want you to get the wrong idea, I did come here to check on you, but that's not really the only reason." I rolled my eyes as she spoke. I was correct. "It's been hard recently and so I took out another credit card, purely just to pay bills. But now I can't afford to pay that back, and I'm already working two jobs as it is." She continued.
"What and you need my help?" I asked. This was what she was like. She would stop talking to me and come out with all these mean things, but as soon as she needed help she would always come back.
"...Yeah sort of." She mumbled.
I stayed quiet for awhile, weighing my options. I could tell her to fuck off and deal with it herself for once, or I could help her. I ran my hand through my hair and sighed. I had to help her, she was my mum and even though I hated her a part of me still loved her.
"Fine, but this is the last time. I mean that." I said sternly. "How much do you need?" I asked.
"I don't know the exact amount, but I think £1,500 will cover it." She replied sheepishly.
"Fine." At this point I didn't care that the amount she gave me was probably more than she needed, I just wanted her out of my home.
"I give you this and you leave, deal?"
