Just a little TW before we start this chapter. I am including scenes that show Leah dealing with her endometriosis. If you don't feel comfortable to read this you can skip this part, it does include other scenarios later on in the chapter but again if you miss those it won't really impact the story.

Endometriosis is a very scary diagnosis to get, but it can also be a very relieving one for some people that have struggled with doctors that don't take women's health seriously for a long time. There is currently no cure or real treatment for endo which makes it a lot harder to deal with given the lack of research into it. For me personally, I have been trying to get a diagnosis of something for years. My period pain still does impact my life and it doesn't help that they tell you to go see a doctor but when you do they just tell you to 'take pain killers' or 'you just have to deal with it. Every other woman goes through this' (real things I've had said to me by doctors). It really makes you feel stupid. If anyone needs a wee chat again feel free to message me I will always get back to you.

Okay now onto the chapter!

1 week later

After the fiasco of last week, Leah had promised that she wouldn't be drunk for a long time - at least until her birthday that was coming up.

Today was another rare day when Leah and I didn't have anything on. We had the whole day to ourselves and I was excited to have a movie marathon. I was picking out the movies - which turned out to be mainly Marvel movies - while Leah got the snacks. However, when Leah came down the stairs she wasn't looking too good.

"Are you alright? You look a bit peaky." I asked as she came over and sat next to me. My worry only increased as I saw her begin to pick at her nails and avoid eye contact with me. "Leah?" I asked again. She looked up at me and sighed.

"We need to talk."

Those four words made my heart sink. Was she about to tell me she had found someone else? Has someone died? "Okay." I said with a shaky voice.

She finally held eye contact with me. "I've just got my period." She mumbled, sounding a little embarrassed to talk about this with me. I felt a little nervous, I had somehow never been with Leah when she was on her period and I wanted to make sure I did everything right.

"Oh...okay. What do you need? Do you have a hot water bottle that I can get for you?" I rambled. Her hand on my arm stopped me.

"Y/n. I have endometriosis. Do you know what that is?" She asked. Of course I knew what it was and I felt my heart break that she had to go through this. I shuffled closer to Leah and placed my hand lovingly on her thigh.

"Yeah I know, I had a friend deal with it back home in Scotland. Are you okay?"

Leah smiled slightly at the thought of not having to explain it. She put her hand on top of mine. "I'm in a little bit of pain but I'll deal with it. I wasn't expecting it today so I'm not really prepared." She sighed.

This made me angry. "You shouldn't have to just deal with it though. It makes me so annoyed that so little research is done into this." I ranted, trying to take deep breath's to stop myself from exploding. This wasn't what she needed right now.

"I know y/n/n. I felt the same when I got diagnosed last year, I mean it took years to even be taken seriously with this sorta thing. If it wasn't for my mum I'd still probably be undiagnosed."

"Yeah?" I questioned.

"Yeah. She was the one that took me to every appointment and advocated for me." She explained.
