"I want you to meet my family."

I choked on my hot chocolate and started to have a coughing fit over the table. My eyes widened. "Sorry what?" I asked after I had almost died. We were now a few weeks into November and Leah had been staying over more frequently after the argument on halloween. We were both sitting at the kitchen table eating pancakes when she came out with this.

"Y/n you've been my girlfriend for two months now, and my mum's desperately wanting to meet you." She replied.

"Why? I'm not that special." I took another bite out of my pancake and lifted an eyebrow.

"You are y/n. My mum just wants to properly meet the person that makes me happy." She explained as she got up to take her plate to the sink.

"I make you happy?" I smirked.

Leah rolled her eyes. "No y/n, you make me really sad." She said sarcastically.

"I have a question."

Leah walked back over and sat opposite me. "What?" She asked.

"Is it a deal breaker if they don't like me?"

She laughed, "Y/n they will love you."

I stood up and took my own plate to the sink, I began to do the dishes when I felt a flick of water on my face. I turned around and saw Leah laughing at me. "Oh so you think you're funny Williamson?" I raised my eyebrows. She was still laughing. I took my hand out of the sink and flicked water back at her.

"Oi!" She shouted and ran after me. We both ran through to the living room and landed in an heap on the couch.

"So. Will you meet my family?" She asked after we had calmed down.

I took a deep breath, I was going to have to do it at some point. "Yeah alright." I smiled.

Leah let out a grin and kissed me. "Yay! I love you y/n/n!"

We had another game in a couple of days so training was more focused on game based drills.

Leah came jogging up next to me, "When do you want to meet them?" She asked, out of breath.

I looked to her. "Huh?" I asked confused.

"My family. When do you want to meet them?" She laughed.

"Ohhh, uh dunno. Whenever you want." I replied. I was actually really nervous to meet her parents. I know that her family means the world to her and I didn't know how she would react if they didn't like me.

She nodded. "I'll talk to them and see when they're free."

After training Viv and I were walking to the changing rooms when Leah came running out with her phone in her hand. "Woah Leah." I said as she almost ran into me.

"They're free next Thursday, is that okay with you?" I widened my eyes and raised my eyebrows.

"Wow that was fast." I exclaimed while Viv looked around confused for a minute until she realised what was happening and laughed.

I turned to her, "What?" I asked.

"So...meeting the parents, huh?" She replied with a sarcastic smile on her face.

I felt my cheeks go bright red, so I pushed her and flipped her off. "Oh fuck off." I said as I walked away with Leah.

"So is that Thursday okay?" She asked once more as we entered the room.

"Yeah that sounds fine. What are we doing anyway?" I asked. I needed to know how I would be meeting her parents - would it be a lunch? Or maybe a dinner? Or it could be neither and we might just be showing up at her house and doing nothing?
