chapter twenty-two

"Come on, Y/n. You have to come." Beth pleaded over the phone. She was trying to convince me to go to this New Year's eve party at this random bar.

"I don't know Beth. I can't be bothered with that type of thing." I groaned.

She sighed and stayed silent for a little while. "Leah's going." She stated. I could hear the smugness in her voice.

I raised my eyebrows in confusion. Leah hadn't mentioned any New Year's party to me. "Are you sure?" I questioned.

"Well...uh. I haven't asked her yet." She mumbled.

"So how do you know she's going then?" I giggled.

"Well I was going to tell her that you were going."

I started to laugh as I shook my head. "You're something else Beth. Fine I'll come. No need to ask Leah though, I'll just do it."

She squealed in excitement and I laughed when I heard Viv shouting in the background. "Thank you y/n. I can't wait!" She shouted.

"Right okay. See you later then." I laughed before hanging up. I got my phone out and decided to text Leah about the party.

New Year's eve party tonight if you're not busy. Beth is dragging me and I don't want to go without you xx

I'll be there. What time? xx

I thought for a moment before messaging Beth.

What time is the party?

9:30pm

I smiled to myself as I realised that it gave me plenty of time to figure out what to wear and get ready. I messaged Leah again.

Beth said 9:30pm xx

Great, I'll meet you there. I love you xx

I love you too x

I put my phone away and sighed before collapsing on my couch. I had decided to just stay in tonight and invite Leah round so that we could watch the countdown together, but I guess that wasn't happening anymore.

While groaning I pushed myself up off of the couch and started the walk to my room, shaking myself to try and get motivated. I hadn't bought any new clothes recently so I would just have to settle for something I had already worn out. I picked out a red velvety suit as I hadn't worn it in a while, it was also probably the most expensive suit that I owned.

After picking out what I was going to wear I decided to go for a shower and start getting ready. I would rather be early than be in a rush, then I would get all sweaty. I scrubbed my hair with this new lavender shampoo that I had purchased and sighed as the warm water rinsed it out.

Once the shower was finished I wondered through to my room and started to put the suit on, deciding to leave my blazer off as I didn't want to get too hot. To complete my look I sprayed myself with this expensive perfume I had bought before looking at myself in the mirror and smiling. I looked hot. I took a photo of myself in the mirror and sent it to Leah.

I smiled to myself at her reply.

You good Lee? ;)

No, you are so hot. How about we forget the party and I just come over?

And do what?

You know what

I smirked to myself at her teasing, as much as I would love to ditch the party I knew that Beth would probably hunt me down and drag me if I didn't go.
