It had been another week and my eye was now fully healed. We had our next game against Reading tomorrow, and it was at home. Which made me more nervous than I was for the fist game against Everton. It was always a big deal when you played at home, especially for the first time, and I really didn't want to let the fans down. They would feel the loss a lot harder.Leah and I had been going strong, but still taking it slow. I didn't want to scare her off and have her ignore me again. We had been on two more dates, one was at a bowling alley - obviously Leah won, and the other was back at the cafe we had been on our first date. She was amazing. I wanted to ask her to come round to mine after the match, but I was scared that she would say no. I hated getting rejected. Hands down the worst thing ever.
Training was hard today, Jonas wanted to make sure we were absolutely ready. Even though Reading wasn't a particularly hard team we still had to be on our top game. Jonas called me over in training again to tell me that I wouldn't be starting. I guessed that would happen so it didn't bother me. I had to make an impression this game, and hopefully not get punched within the first five minutes of me being on.
I saw Jordan run up to me after training when I was walking to my car. After our little chat we had about Leah she had been talking to me more, I think she was just worried that I was going to hurt Leah before.
"You alright?" I asked. I shut the door that I had opened to get into the car.
"Yeah fine. Just wanted to say good luck for tomorrow, I know it's your first match with Arsenal playing at home." She smiled. That was so sweet.
"Thank you Jordan, means a lot." I replied and smiled.
She looked around, "Don't say anything but some of the girls might have something planned for you tonight, just as a good luck."
"What, on the night before the match?" I questioned, I would've thought that they would've done something a couple of days before, not the night before.
"Yeah, but it won't be a late night, and obviously no alcohol." She smiled, trying to ease my concern.
"Okay, sounds cool." I nodded and got into my car as Jordan walked away. I rolled my window down as I noticed Leah walking towards me.
She popped her head through the window and smiled, waiting until the girls had all left the car park before she leant down and gave me a kiss. Her lips were cold from the September wind.
We pulled back and I grinned at her. "What was that for, Williamson?" I asked.
"Because I like you." I giggled and looked down at my hands. Leah made me feel like a shy school girl all over again.
"What were you and Jordan talking about?" She questioned.
"She was just wishing me luck for the game tomorrow." I replied, remembering how Jordan had told me not to say anything about spoiling the surprise.
Leah raised her eyebrows, clearly not believing me. I didn't say anything and continued to look at her, trying to seem confused. She kept the same face, meaning that she was not going to budge.
I groaned. "Ugh fine. She said that you girls had something planned for me." I sighed looked down in defeat.
"Oh did she now?" Leah kissed her teeth and shook her head. "I knew she would crack." She continued.
"So what is it you have planned?" I smirked up at her. She shook her head again and laughed, "Nope, not telling you." I sighed, "Come on." I whined, "You have to tell me something." I continued.
"Right fine, but this is all you're getting." She paused, keeping me on the edge of my seat. "You might get a knock on your door at around 6." She continued.
