Chapter 7

Tang Yi's POV

"What do you believe he's up to?" my father asked.

When I had returned home, I informed him about Lhong. I even mentioned about my suspicions that he has an alternative motive.

"I'm not sure exactly, but it has to be related to our shipments being interrupted, possibly the mole as well."

"Hm." is all he said. He took out a cigarette and lit it. 

"I'll handle it. For now, just keep an eye on him and report to me if anything happens."

I nodded and started heading for the door. As I walked into my room, I flopped down on the bed. This whole situation was stressful enough with a possible mole. Now I have to deal with Lhong. I remembered the jealousy and anger rising inside me when I first saw him near Shao Fei. I just wanted to get him away from him, he has no idea what Lhong is possibly capable of. I could never forgive myself if anything happened to him.

My notification sound went off and I raised my head to pick up my phone. When I saw that it was Shao Fei, I instantly brightened up. I opened up his message.

Can't wait for Saturday.  Here's my address "XXXXXXXX"

I smiled at the text.

Can't wait too. Remember, I'll pick you up at 6.

I laid down on the bed and smiled at the phone. I just hope that the date goes well.

3rd Person POV

Tang Guo Dong called in the head bodyguard in his room. The bodyguard entered and bowed.

"Yes sir?"

Tang Guo Dong took a puff of his cigarette before speaking.

"I need you to send people to watch Lhong. I'm going to need constant reports on his activities. We need to know what's the next step our enemy is going to make."

"Yes sir. I'll get right on it. Please excuse me." He bowed and left the room.

Tang Guo Dong sighed and rubbed his forehead. He continued smoking until just the butt of the cigarette was left.

The next day

Shao Fei's POV

"So, do you know where you're going?" Zhao Zi asked eagerly.

I had told him about the date Tang Yi, and I are going to have Saturday. He seemed excited for me, probably a bit too much since I was the one going on the date.

I shook my head, "He hasn't said what we're doing. I haven't even asked. I just hope it goes well."

"You worry too much. I'm sure it'll go great."

I nodded my head. Then I heard someone call my name. I looked in the direction of the voice and saw Lhong.

"Hey Lhong." I greeted.

"Hey, could I talk to you for a second."

I looked at Zhao Zi and he head the same confused look as me.

"Well, we need to head to class-"

"It won't take long, I promise."

I was still confused, but I nodded, "Ok, we can talk."

I turned to Zhao Zi, "You can head to class. I'll catch up."

Zhao Zi nodded, "Don't take long."

As Zhao Zi walked off, Lhong grabbed my wrist and pulled me towards an empty hallway.

"So, what is it you want to talk-"

"Will you go out with me tomorrow?"

I froze at the question. Did I hear that right? I looked at him, confused.

"What?"

He took a deep breath, "Will you go out with me tomorrow?"

Yep, I heard it right the first time.

"Well, um, I actually have something else-"

"I like you." 

I looked at him shocked.

Lhong then proceeded to take my hand, "You've been so nice to me since I first came here. You seem really cool, and I just want to hang out with you more. Just the two of us. So, what do you say?"

I looked down at his hand that was holding mine and removed it. I could see the look in his eyes change.

"Lhong, you seem like a nice person, but I don't feel the same way. I like someone else."

He hung his head. I patted him on the arm for comfort.

"You could find someone else. I'm sure there's other people who like you."

"But they won't be the same as you." Lhong said in a low voice.

I removed my hand from his arm. "I better get to class."

I started walking to class, taking one last look at Lhong, His head was still hung down and I did feel bad.

'He'll get over me, right? Sooner or later, he'll find someone else.'

I walked into the classroom and sat down next to Zhao Zi.

"What did he talk to you about?" Zhao Zi asked.

I shook my head, "Nothing important."

I could tell he was about to ask more questions, but the class started.

'Ok, I just need to focus. Remember, you have a date with Tang Yi tomorrow.'

I just really hope Lhong will get over me.
