Shao Fei's POV

The final class of the day ended, and Zhao Zi and I packed up our stuff and walked out to the parking lot.

"See you A' Fei." Zhao Zi called out.

I waved at him and started walking to my bike. I unhooked the chain and started riding to my mom's restaurant. I arrived a little while later and parked my bike on the side of the building. I walked inside and went up to my mom and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"Hey mom."

"Hey sweetie, you're just in time. Can you start cleaning off the tables?"

I nodded my head and went to put on my apron. The day went by as usual. A few customers come in and I take them to their seats and take their order. Then I would clean off the tables, sweep, mop, and do the dishes.

The doorbell rang, indicating another customer. I stopped sweeping and placed the broom against the wall.

"Hello, welcome." I called out, then I froze when I saw who it was.

It was Tang Yi with his friend. I think his name is Jack.

I quickly snapped out of my thoughts and walked up to them.

"Hello, let me take you to your seats."

I led them to a table and gave them both a menu.

"Can I start you off with some drinks?"

Tang Yi asked for a tea while Jack just ordered a water. I went to the kitchen to grab their drinks. I was freaking out. My crush is literally right there, and I'm serving him. I probably look bad, especially wearing this. I took a couple deep breaths and calmly got the drinks and brought it to them.

"Are you ready to order?"

They both told me their order and I wrote it down and went to the kitchen to give it to my mom.

Tang Yi's POV

Describing myself as nervous would be an understatement. I was full on freaking out right now. I took a sip of my drink to calm me down.

"Wow, what a coincidence. I didn't know Shao Fei worked here." Jack said.

We were just walking near the university, trying to find a place to eat. We chose this one because it didn't seem busy unlike the others we saw. The minute I saw him, my mind went haywire. But the way he talked made it seem like I was just another customer. Does he not know who I am?

"You should talk to him."

I choked on my drink. Me, just going up to him and talk. About what though? Plus, he's working right now. I quickly shook my head.

"Come on Tang Yi, now's your chance. Just do it. Remember I said it's better to take the risk."

I was about to respond to him when Shao Fei came back with our food.

"Here you go, enjoy."

I quietly thanked him and started eating. The food here was delicious. I saw that Jack was going to say something, so I quickly interrupted him.

"Ok, look. I'll talk to him, ok? Happy?"

He smiled and nodded. I rolled my eyes and continued eating. When we finished, Shao Fei came back to our table and gave us the check. The smile on his face was enchanting. When he walked away, Jack gave me a 'good luck' smile. I took a deep breath and walked up to the counter where Shao Fei was.

"Hey. Shao Fei, right?"

He turned around and had the brightest smile on his face.

"Yeah. You're Tang Yi, aren't you?"

"You know who I am?"

"Of course. Who wouldn't know you? You're the coolest person in University."

I was shocked by his statement. He thinks I'm cool?

"Oh, um, sorry. That was embarrassing to say."

The way he was flustered and playing with the hem of his apron made him even more adorable.

"Anyway, I was wondering if you maybe wanted to hang out with me."

He fell quiet and just stared at me. Did I say something wrong? Does he not want to? I started to panic a little until he responded.

"Yeah, sure. I would like that."

I breathed a sigh of relief in my head.

"Great. So, do you want to meet tomorrow during lunch?"

Shao Fei smiled and nodded his head. "Yeah, sounds good."

I only showed a small smile, but on the inside, I was overjoyed. I took a pen from my pocket and wrote down something on the receipt. I handed it to him.

"Here's my number. I'll see you tomorrow."

I signaled to Jack to leave, and he got up and we both walked out the door.

"So, what happened? What did you two talks about?" Jack had slung his arm around my shoulder. I rolled my eyes in amusement and shrugged him off.

"I asked him to hang out with me at lunch."

"Oh, nice. See, doesn't it feel good to just take the risk?"

'I'm still worried though.' I thought, but it did feel nice that he even accepted me.

Just then, my phone went off. I took it out of my pocket to see a text from my dad.

Come home, we need to discuss something.

"I have to go. My dad wants me home."

"Why? What happened?"

"Don't know. He just said we need to talk."

Jack nodded his head, "Well, see you later." He waved and walked to his motorcycle. I waved back to him and started walking to my car.

'What could've happened that my dad needs me home?'
