Tang Yi's POV

Those four words I was dreading to hear. I knew that this talk would be inevitable. But I knew I had to come clean to Shao Fei. He doesn't deserve anything that happened to him. I looked up and made eye contact with him.

"Ask me anything and I'll answer it honestly. I won't keep any more secrets from you."

I could see the doubtful look in his eyes. It hurts to see it, but I deserve it. He took a deep breath and started talking.

"Who are you really Tang Yi?"

I saw this question coming. I took a deep breath and knew that there was a lot to explain.

"I'm the son of Tang Guo Dong. He's the person who saved us at the warehouse. He's the leader of the mafia clan Tian Meng. What that means for me is if anything happened to him, I would take over. This is how my entire life has been like. I've always been surrounded by violence and betrayal, not knowing who to trust. Jack is the only real friend that I feel like I can trust. That's how it's been since I was young. I was taught how to protect myself and be cautious about everyone and everything."

Shao Fei was silent and I could see the shock in his eyes as he processed everything I revealed.

"So Lhong was telling the truth?"

I froze when I heard Lhong's name. What was he doing near Shao Fei? And what did he say?

"What do you mean? What did Lhong say to you?"

Shao Fei was quiet. He looked like he was processing something in his mind. I hesitantly placed a hand on his arm. He looked at me, but didn't refuse my touch.

"He told me that you were dangerous. That I should stay away from you. I didn't believe him though, I thought that he was just messing with my head. But I never stopped thinking about what he said."

Lhong told him? And Shao Fei still stayed with me? I knew this wasn't the right time, but I couldn't help but feel happy. I moved closer to Shao Fei and took his hand. I could see his eyes move down to my hand, but he didn't move his hand.

"Shao Fei, I never wanted to put you in any danger. I thought if I didn't tell you, you wouldn't be involved. But now I know even being around me puts you in it. I'm sorry you had to get involved in my mess. Not only that but your mom got hurt as well. I'm sorry about everything."

I could feel his hand intertwine with mine. A small smile appeared on his face.

"You always cared and worried about me. It seemed like you always knew when something was wrong with me. You could easily read me like an open book."

His smile suddenly dropped and he looked at me with a sad and serious expression.

"Tang Yi, do you really have feelings for me? Or was everything just pretending?"

I could see the sad look in his eyes and it broke me. I took his other hand in mine.

"Shao Fei, I know that I've been lying and keeping secrets from you, but my feelings are all true. I've liked you for so long. Ever since I first saw you as freshmen, I could always feel something when I saw you. I never believed in love at first sight, but I don't know how else to explain it. You were so nice, smart, and brave. You never hesitated to help people and you were never scared of anything. I fell in love with you because you're Shao Fei, an amazing person who has my heart."

A smile started to appear on his face. He suddenly pulled me into a hug. I was shocked, but hugged him back tightly.

"You're not lying, are you?"

I shook my head.

"No, I'm not. I know I have a long way to go to gain your trust again, but I'm willing to work as long as it takes to get it back. I promise I won't hide anything else from you."

Shao Fei pulled away from the hug first and I could see his confused expression.

"But there's one thing I don't understand."

I looked at him confused. What else was there to talk about with the past situation?

"What is it?"

"Why was my mom with your dad? Do they know each other? Did you know about this?"

I thought for a moment. It was strange now that I thought about it.

"I don't know either. It's also new to me as well."

I took his hand once again and intertwined our fingers slightly squeezing it.

"But I'll help you find the truth. We'll do it together. Ok?"

He nodded and squeezed my hand back.

"Together"
