Chapter 25

Tang Yi's POV

I nodded my head and sent the bodyguard off. 

'Whatever my dad needs to stay, it must be really important.' I thought.

I looked back at Shao Fei who was still asleep. I quietly left the room and headed to my dad's office. When I get to his door, I knock before walking in. He looks up and when he sees that it's me, he lets out a breath.

"Dad, what's wrong? Why did you call me?"

"Son, you better sit down for this."

I quickly took my seat and waited for him to continue.

"We found him. We found Lhong."

My breath gets caught in my throat. To say that I was stunned was an understatement. We finally found him after what felt like a long time.

"So, what's next. What are we going to do now?"

"What's next is our people are going to catch him and take him to one of our warehouses. Tonight, we're going to talk and see if we can get some kind of good information on their territory. Hopefully we'll get some kind of information to take them down once and for all."

"Let me go with you tonight. I want to see Lhong."

I want to do this. I want to see and hear everything with my own eyes and ears. I want to help take down Lhong and every single member of his clan. Not just because of how much I hate their clan, but because I want to have a chance at a normal life. I want to live that life with Shao Fei. I want to protect him. And if taking this clan down and going legit means I can have that life with Shao Fei, I'm willing to do this.

I saw my dad nod in agreement.

"Alright you can come. But I need you to be careful. We'll be heading out at 10:00."

I nod and get up and leave the room. I'm still a bit dazed at the information.

I get back to my room and see that Shao Fei is still asleep. I quietly go over to the bed and sit next to him. My mind starts to wander off. In just a few hours, I'll be face to face with Lhong. I'm not nervous, but I could feel myself getting angry and determined. He's kidnapped my Shao Fei and I won't let this opportunity of seeing him at his lowest get away. Just thinking about if tonight goes well and we get the information we need, we can take down his clan in no time. Then I would be able to live a normal life with Shao Fei. I never want to see him the way I saw him the night he was kidnapped. I'll make sure that tonight goes according to plan.

"Tang Yi?"

Shao Fei's voice snaps me out of my thoughts. I look down to see him awake.

"Hey. I didn't wake you, did I?"

Shao Fei sits up and rubs the sleep from his eyes.

"No, you didn't."

Shao Fei looks towards me and smiles. I've always loved his smile. I always want to see him smiling like that. Once everything is over, I'll make sure that his smile will never leave his face.

"Tang Yi are you ok? What's wrong?"

I looked at him and noticed the worry in his eyes as he looked at me. My mind is still on tonight with Lhong and I guess Shao Fei noticed.

I couldn't help myself as I cupped his face and pulled him into a kiss. I needed this; I needed him right now. I felt as he started kissing me back. Our kiss lasted for a moment before I pulled away. I didn't want it to end but I needed to tell him. I held his hands and looked him in the eyes.

"Shao Fei, we found him. We found Lhong"

The look of shock formed on his face. 

"What? Really? You got him? What happens now?"

"We're going to capture him, take him to one of our warehouses and make him talk. We're leaving tonight at 10:00."

I could see the distressed look in his eyes. I pulled him closer to me.

"It's alright. Everything will be over soon. You'll be safe from Lhong and we won't have to worry about any of this anymore when everything's done. I promise you that." I wanted to reassure him; I don't want him stressing out over this.

Shao Fei nodded but I could still see the worriedness in his eyes. He takes my hands in his.

"Then promise me something. Promise me that you'll come back unharmed. Promise me that you'll be careful. Please?"

I pulled him closer and kissed his forehead.

"I promise."

I pulled him into a hug and moved both of us, my back leaning against the headboard and Shao Fei snuggled up on me. I needed to hold him as long as possible. I need the energy for tonight,

9:55 PM

I finished up getting ready. I make sure that my gun is out of sight. I could feel Shao Fei's eyes watching me as I finished up. I turned towards him sitting on the bed. He still had a worried look in his eyes. I move towards him and sit down next to him. I take his hands into mine.

"Don't worry, everything will be fine. I promise."

He looks down at our hands and nods. I lift his head up to make him look at me and place a small kiss on his lips. I separate from him even though I don't want it to end.

"I have to go now. I'll see you soon."

I get up from the bed and head to the door. I take one last look at him and give him a small smile. He smiles back even though I could see the worriedness in his eyes. I head out the room and head downstairs.

In the living room, every single bodyguard we have is gathered. I could see my dad assigning them into groups of where they should be around the house and who was going with us. I saw that my dad had noticed me coming into the room.

"Tang Yi, you're with me."

I nodded.

"You better come back. Or else."

I turned around to see Shao Fei's mom behind me, a serious look on her face and her arms crossed. I didn't get a chance to speak before she started talking.

"My son loves you very much. I don't want to see him hurt. I expect you to come back unharmed and make sure that my son is happy. Do you understand?"

I nodded, "Yes I understand. Shao Fei is in my room if you want to check up on him."

She nodded and started heading upstairs.

"You better come back." She turned around and said before heading up.

Then my dad was done with assigning everyone a job. The bodyguards scattered, going into position. I followed my dad outside to one of the cars. We headed in and started the car. I looked towards my bedroom window and saw Shao Fei standing there.

'I'll come back to you.'

"Are you ready son?"

I nodded, feeling the determination growing inside me.

"I'm ready."
