Chapter 14

3rd Person POV

Shao Fei lets out a groan as he lifts his head up. He tries to stand up, but realizes that he's tied up in a chair and his mouth is covered with a rag. He looks around to see that he's in a dimly lit warehouse. 

"Good, you're awake now."

Shao Fei turns his head towards the voice to see Lhong and a group of people behind him. Lhong pulls up a chair and sits across from Shao Fei. Two people are positioned behind Shao Fei. Lhong signals to one of them and he removes the rag from Shao Fei's mouth.

"Why'd you bring me here? What do you want from me?"

Lhong just let out a small chuckle which made Shao Fei look at him confused.

"I thought you were smarter than this. I expected you to find out by now."

"Find out what?"

Lhong sighed and moved so he was face to face with Shao Fei.

"Listen, what I'm going to be telling you is the truth. Whether you believe me or not is up to you. Tang Yi is the son of the Hsin Tian mafia clan, one of the most powerful clans in the country."

Shao Fei looked at him in shock. Lhong smiled, pleased with his reaction.

"Wow, he really never told you. I get it though, some people might be scared off if it was revealed. I guess he really cares about you. So much that he's coming here right now."

Just then, one of Lhong's men comes in the room.

"Sir, he's here."

Lhong grinned, "Bring him in."

Shao Fei watched as Tang Yi was led into the room by two men. They made eye contact and Shao Fei could see the worry in his eyes. Lhong waved his hand and his men left the room leaving the three alone.

"I'm here. Now, let Shao Fei go. He has nothing to do with this."

"Now let's not be hasty. You wouldn't want something to happen to him, would you?"

Lhong pulled out a gun from his side and pointed it at Shao Fei. Tang Yi took one step forward which made Lhong point the gun at him.

"You, stay where you are. I'm going to explain what's going to happen and I want you to listen carefully. Understand?"

Tang Yi looked at Shao Fei who had fear in his eyes. He looked back at Lhong with anger, but stayed silent which Lhong took as a yes.

"Good. Now, my men have contacted my father about your arrival. You'll stay here as he negotiates with your father. If they reach an agreement, you'll both be let go."

"And if they don't?"

Lhong grinned at him.

"Then, we'll just have to take everything you have, bringing down the Hsin Tian clan once and for all. Let's say we have a special connection within your clan so it wouldn't be difficult."

Tang Yi smirked, "So it's true. One of our people is a mole. Oh, what a shame. But we don't have to worry. Your plan won't work."

This made Lhong laugh, "And what do you mean by that?"

*Bang* *Bang* *Bang*

The sound of gunshots outside distracted Lhong for a second which Tang Yi lunged at him, knocking the gun out his hand and pinning him to the floor. Tang Yi started punching Lhong until he was unconscious. He picked up the gun and ran to Shao Fei.

"Tang Yi, you have so much explaining to do."

"I know. I'm sorry that you got dragged into this. I'll explain everything when we get out of here."

Tang Yi untied the ropes and took Shao Fei's hand as they started running.

"Jack and Zhao Zi are here. My dad should be here by now."

"Zhao Zi's here? Did he know about you as well? Is Jack also part of the mafia too?

Then the door to the warehouse burst open and a group of people walked in, their guns out and aimed. Jack and Zhao Zi spot Tang Yi and Shao Fei and rush towards them.

"Are you two ok?" Jack asked.

"Yeah, we're fine." Tang Yi said and Shao Fei nods his head.

Then Tang Guo Dong comes in followed by a woman behind him. Shao Fei looked in shock at who it was.

"Mom?!"

She looked towards Shao Fei and rushed over to him and hugged him.

"Shao Fei, are you alright? Are you hurt?"

"I'm fine. Mom, what're you doing with them?"

"It's a lot to explain. Let's get out of here first."

Just then, bullets were flying around them. They all ducked behind some crates. Tang Guo Dong and Shao Fei's mom pulled out a gun and started firing.

"MOM, YOU KNOW HOW TO USE A GUN?" Shao Fei asked in disbelief.

They continued firing until Shao Fei's mom yelled in pain and clutched her shoulder. 

"MOM"

Shao Fei rushes to her aid as Tang Guo Dong continues firing.

"We need to get out of here. Tang Yi help her up. Jack, you help me watch our back."

Tang Yi quickly helps Shao Fei with his mom and Zhao Zi comes in to help. Jack pulls out a gun and shoots with Tang Guo Dong. They make it outside and head to one of the cars. Tang Guo Dong helps them put her in the back. After everyone gets in, Tang Guo Dong gets in the driver seat and starts driving. The phone rings and he picks it up.

"Sir, we've apprehended Lhong's men, but it seems that Lhong has escaped. What should we do."

"Lock them up. We'll need them for later. What's the status of our people?"

"3 of our people have been injured. We're transporting them to our hospital."

"Good, we're headed there now."

The phone call ends. Tang Guo Dong speeds up and heads to their hospital as quickly as he can. Tang Yi looks at Shao Fei and puts a hand on his shoulder.

"We're going to help her. I promise you that."

Shao Fei looks at him and nods. He looks back at his mom and holds her hand.

"It's going to be ok."
