Shao Fei's POV
I had just finished mopping the floor of the restaurant and was putting the supplies back. I went behind the counter and hung up my apron and kissed my mom on the cheek.
"See you mom, I'm heading out now."
"Where are you off to in such a rush?"
"Nowhere, just going out with someone."
"And who is this someone?" she asked in a teasing tone.
I blushed, "Just a friend. I have to go now."
She laughed, "Ok, have fun with this friend."
I quickly walked out and headed to my bike. I unlocked it and quickly headed back to my dorm. I needed to shower and get changed before Tang Yi would come. The night felt perfect, I wondered what Tang Yi was planning for tonight.
I made it to my dorm and headed up to my room. I checked the time, 5:25. I still had time. I took off my clothes that smelled of different combinations of food and cleaning supplies and headed for the shower. I made sure that I scrubbed and cleaned myself good, I wouldn't want to smell on my first real date.
I eventually got out and went through my clothes. I don't want to overdress, so I decided to wear something casual. I picked out a solid black t-shirt and a pair of jeans with my blue jacket. I looked in the mirror and fixed my hair. As I was dealing with my hair, my phone started ringing. I looked down and saw Tang Yi calling me. I picked up.
"Hey Tang Yi."
"Hey, I'm downstairs."
"Ok, I'm heading down."
I hung up and grabbed my key and wallet and walked out and headed downstairs. As I exited the apartment building, I saw Tang Yi leaned against his car on his phone. He was wearing a white t-shirt with a jean jacket and a pair of jeans. I ran up to him and he looked up and smiled.
"Hey. Sorry, I'm a little early."
"It's fine. So, what're we going to do?"
He came closer to me and lifted my chin up. "You'll just have to wait and see."
He dropped his hand and went back into the car. I stood there frozen. the heat rushing to my cheeks from his small touch. I snapped out of it and went in the passenger seat.
3rd Person POV
Tang Yi started driving through the city. Shao Fei was staring through the window, wondering what Tang Yi was planning. Shao Fei looked over at Tang Yi, he really did look handsome.
"Could you give me a hint at least?" Shao Fei asked.
Tang Yi chuckled, "You're really anxious, aren't you?"
"Of course, who wouldn't be?"
Tang Yi reached over and held Shao Fei's hand, "Trust me, you'll like it."
Shao Fei looked down at Tang Yi's hand. He smiled and gripped his hand back. Throughout the whole ride, neither of them lets go of each other's hands. Eventually, Tang Yi pulled up to an area with many small stands and businesses. As they got out the car, Shao Fei looked around in amazement. The area was lit with many different colored lanterns.
"Wow, this place looks amazing." Shao Fei said with excitement.
"Well, I thought I'd try something different than a normal date idea. So, I found this great night market and thought it would be fun."
"Well, let's go then."
Shao Fei grabbed Tang Yi's wrist and started dragging him like a child in an amusement park. Tang Yi didn't mind it, he just enjoyed seeing the childlike look in Shao Fei's eyes.
They first went into a stall with clothes where Tang Yi found a pink sweater with a frog on it. It made Shao Fei burst into laughter.
"Come on, you'd look cute in it." Tang Yi said.
"No way, I'm not wearing that." Shao Fei said, trying to contain his laughter.
Tang Yi put the sweater back and leaned down to whisper, "You'd look cute in anything."
This made Shao Fei freeze and start blushing. He turned his face away to prevent Tang Yi from seeing the effect he had on him. Tang Yi chuckled and dragged the dazed Shao Fei out.
"Let's look at more stalls." Tang Yi said.
They stopped by a stall that sold little ornaments, jewelry, sunglasses, and key chains. They both started looking through the racks. Tang Yi saw Shao Fei pick up a skeleton key chain.
"Do you like that one?"
Shao Fei nodded, "It looks cute."
"I'll pay for it."
"Oh no, you don't have to." Shao Fei said quickly.
"It's fine. You're my date. Besides, I need to pay my stuff too." Tang Yi said, holding up a pair of sunglasses and a frog key chain.
They went up to the elderly man who was running the stall to pay.
"You two are such a lovely couple. Have a good night." the man said after they paid.
They both smiled at the man's comment. They stop by many other stores before they decided to get something to eat. They stop by a stall selling skewers of different meats. They ordered their food and sat down on a nearby bench.
"Are you having a good time?" Tang Yi asked.
"Of course, this has been amazing Tang Yi." Shao Fei placed his head on Tang Yi's shoulder, "Thank you for bringing me here."
Tang Yi slowly wrapped his arm around Shao Fei's shoulder, "You don't have to thank me."
Shao Fei looked up at Tang Yi, smiling.
"I want to take you somewhere else after this. Are you up for it?" Tang Yi asked.
"There's more?" Shao Fei asked, confused.
Tang Yi nodded, "It'll be nice, trust me."
Shao Fei nodded, "Sure, I'm up for it."
'Anything to spend more time with you.' Shao Fei thought.
They continued eating, enjoying the embrace of each other.
