Tang Yi's POV
2 weeks later
I was sitting in the meeting room with a bunch of our bodyguards who were listening to my dad's plan for tonight. It's been two weeks since our conversation with Lhong. Ever since then, we've been planning on how to infiltrate Aurak's territory and confirming whether or not the information Lhong had given us was true. Through many days of observing, it was safe to say that Lhong was telling the truth. Now the only thing left is to make sure everything goes according to plan tonight.
"Now, does anyone have any questions?" My dad asked after he was done presenting.
It was dead silent, nobody answered.
"Alright then. Now I need everyone to start preparing everything for tonight. You're all dismissed."
Everyone started to get up and leave the room.
"Tang Yi, can I talk to you for a moment." my dad called out.
I was confused but I nodded and walked up to him. He didn't say anything until the last bodyguard left the room, leaving the both of us alone. I looked back at him and noticed the seriousness in his eyes.
"Dad, what's wrong? Why did you want to talk to me?" I asked, a little worried on what he was going to say.
"Tang Yi, are you completely sure you want to come with us? This won't be like any past mission I've brought you too before. So, I need to know if you're sure about coming with us."
Now I was shocked. I get that he's worried for me and it's true that I haven't been to a mission this extreme before, but I'm not backing down.
"Yes dad, I'm sure I want to go. I want to see that clan fall with my own eyes." I said matter-of-factly.
After everything that clan had done to us, I was more than sure of wanting to go. I especially want to live a normal, peaceful life with Shao Fei. So, if it means going to see our plan succeed, then I want to go.
"Ok then. If you're sure you want to come, you can. But I need you to be careful and if anything were to go wrong, I need you to get out of there and get to safety. Understand?"
I looked at him confused. Is he seriously asking me to just leave him if things go south?
"No dad, I won't leave you behind. I-"
"That's an order Tang Yi. If anything goes wrong, I need you to get out. No arguments." He said in a stern voice. He rarely talks to me that way unless he's dead serious about something.
I didn't like it but I nodded in agreement and left the room.
The first thing I see is Shao Fei standing there with a smile on his face. I can feel all my past negative emotions slipping away when I lay eyes on him. I walk up to him and pull him into a hug, feeling his arms wrap around me like a warm blanket.
We eventually pulled away and we walked back to the bedroom. After we entered and I closed the door, we both sat on the end of the bed.
"So, what happened?" Shao Fei asked.
"We're attacking tonight. We leave at 10:00 PM." I told him.
I see Shao Fei looking down fidgeting with his hands.
"Is this really happening?" Shao Fei asked in a low voice.
I could hear the worry in his voice. It must've been stressful for him the last time I left and I don't want him to be alone. I know his mom is here but maybe he would want someone else here.
"Shao Fei, if you want you can invite Zhao Zi here. So, you don't have to be alone. It'll be safe here I promise."
Shao Fei looked at me in confusion.
"Would that be, ok? Zhao Zi hasn't ever been here before." Shao Fei said.
"Well if he brings Jack with him, I think he'll be fine. Everyone here knows Jack."
Shao Fei chuckled at this. It was nice seeing him laugh.
"Ok, I'll call him and ask him. I'll also make sure he brings Jack too."Shao Fei then looked at me, his small smile dropped. He took my hand and looked at me with a serious expression.
"Tang Yi, I want you to be careful for me, ok? I want you to make sure that you come back safely. Can you promise me that?"
I placed my other hand on top of his and looked back at him with a serious expression.
"I promise you Shao Fei, I will be careful and I will come back safely."
I place a kiss on his forehead and see a small smile form on Shao Fei's lips. He placed his head on my shoulder and we just stayed there enjoying our time together.
10:00 PM
It was time. All the bodyguards had prepared everything for the attack. The people who were staying were in position in case something happened when we were gone. The people who were going were waiting for their next order.
I hugged Shao Fei tightly, not wanting to let go. Jack and Zhao Zi were watching the both of us in the background
"I promise, I'll come back." I whispered into Shao Fei's ear holding him tightly.
"I love you, Tang Yi." Shao Fei whispered in my ear before letting go.
"Hey Tang Yi. If something happens to you and you make Shao Fei upset, I'll kill you myself." Zhao Zi threatened me.
I chuckled, but I already knew that he was dead serious.
"I'll be sure to keep that in mind." I told him.
Jack then walked up to me and placed a hand on my shoulder.
"You be careful out there." Jack said.
I nodded at him. I took one last look at Shao Fei and smiled at him. He smiled back, but I could see the worry in his eyes. I headed downstairs and heard my dad give the order of heading out. The bodyguards started heading to their assigned cars. I headed to the one with my dad inside and we all drove off.
I was mentally preparing myself, thinking this is it.
The final battle.
