Today was the day, she was to be married. Verena had half a mind to just run, in her own self pity she thought, no one would miss her.
Eventually Rhaenyra would forget she ever existed. Alicent would say good riddance. Although deep down she knew her disappearance would ruin them both.
So Verena started to get ready, wiping the tears of her face and staring in the mirror practising her smile. It faltered but picked back up when Rhaenyra entered her chamber.
"Nyra, thank god. I'm.... I'm unsure what to do. I know what i have to do. But all of me wishes it is not true. That this is a sick dream. But it's not."
Her face dropped as Rhaenyra walked over to comfort her.
"I wish we never had to grow up. That.... That we could stay together forever."
Rhaenyra reminisced while helping Verena into her wedding dress. It was big and heavy but honestly Verena thought it was beautiful. The flower details that were spread throughout the dress reminded her of the flowers near the Godswood.
When Verena's dress was securely on Rhaenyra placed the necklace that Daemon gave her. It made her think of the one person she didn't want to think of. Oh Daemon. Gods. She knew she loved him. Deep down she knew she would always love him. But she could not have him. Which made her just feel completely empty. Everything would be different. She would suddenly be a Strong.
Rhaenyra leaned into Verena sensing her internal battle.
"I promise to you Verena, that you will never lose me. I promise okay, but... but now it's time."
