Ever since Viserys...
When Verena and Rhaenyra walked into her quarters they saw Ser Harwin standing their with the boys and Verena's children.
"Mama."
Maelor and Athena stood at Verena's legs and she bent down to hug both of her children. She stepped back and caressed both their cheeks,
"rytsas issa loves, emagon ao issare sȳz syt ser harwin? Nyke emagon miseḏ ao." "Hello my loves, Have you been good for Ser Harwin? I have missed you."
Her children smiled up at her as Maelor spoke with a sneaky grin,
"īlon issi va moriot sȳz mama. Luke iksos se naughty mēre yn nyke missed ao sīr olvie." "We are always good mama. Luke is the naughty one But I missed you so much."
When she had Maelor she was terrified it was nine years ago. Rhaenyra stood by her side and didn't leave her until she asked her too. Rhaenyra was always there, she was also there for Athena's birth two years later.
Verena made sure to be there for each of Rhaenyra's births. They felt safe always with each other. It made the experience less scary.
Verena saw Rhaenyra speaking to Harwin and smiling at him. She knew they loved each other. They loved each other in secret.
But that didn't make it any less real. Lucerys grabbed for Joffrey while Harwin brushed them away and Laenor led the children out leaving Rhaenyra, Harwin and Verena alone.
Edmund walked in suddenly and asked to see his family, Verena looked apologetically at Rhaenyra. Mouthing I love you, Verena left the room.

Maelor hugged his father and stayed close to his parents while Athena walked further away from them. Verena scolded her,
"Thena.... Māzigon kesīr. Umbagon rūsīr mama." "Thena.... Come here. Stay with mama."
She ran back to her mother grabbing her hand, humming one for the lullaby's Verena often sang to her children as they rounded the corner to their chambers. The children ran to their rooms and Verena stood as far away from Edmund as she could.
"My love, is everything okay?"
She had over the years grown attached to the man. Not in a love sort of way. But in a he is the father of her children type of way. They had the occasional fight where he would hurt her, then he would grovel for her after. She excepted her fate. She was safe most of the time. Edmund walked closer to her nuzzling his nose on hers, before stepping backwards.
