I sat next to Bella while the Cullens discussed their plans. Bella had told our dad that she was doing back to Pheonix to be home, that she didn't want to get stuck here the way her mom did. I knew it hurt my dad to hear those words, but Edward assured us he'd forgive her.
"He's not going to go after Maggie, but I can't see if the red head will," Alice speaks to the group, worry expressed on her face.
"I think it would be best we talk to Sam. He could protect Maggie while we take care of Bella," Carlisle begins. I look at him in confusion, how would Sam be able to protect me from these vampires?
"Do you have Sam's number?" Rose asks me, sitting beside me and wrapping her arm around me protectively. I nod and hand her my phone without saying a word.
Carlisle takes the phone from Rose and leaves the room to talk to Sam privately.
"So the plan is that Rose and Esme will distract the redhead while rubbing Bella's scent around to confuse James. I'll take Maggie to Sam and Jasper and Alice will take Bella to Pheonix," Carlisle goes over the plan once he returns to the room. My phone is handed back to me and I watch as Esme takes Bella to change her clothes.
"I'm scared, Rose. What if you can't stop them?" I finally speak up and look at the vampire still sitting beside me.
"I promise you will be safe. Sam is going to protect you while we can't," Rose reassured me.
"I can't wait to kick some vampire ass!" Emmett smirks at me. His joke makes me feel a bit better as he isn't taking this as serious as the others. I know Emmett can handle himself.
"Please keep each other safe," I beg them all.
"You do not have to worry about us," Jasper answers me, I feel a wave of calmness wash over me and I smile at him thankfully.
"Are you ready, Maggie?" Carlisle asks me. I nod and stand up. I hug each of the vampires that I've grown to love then stop in front of my sister.
"Please do not do anything to get yourself killed," I beg of her.
"I won't. Listen to Sam and be safe," Bella replies before pulling me into a tight hug. I could tell she was also unsure of why I was going to Sam's but she trusts the Cullens just as much as I did.
We finally separate and the group divides.

I drifted off into a deep sleep once Sam began walking me back to him and his fiancé, Emily's, place. I could feel all the stress of the day getting to me and my body's reaction was to sleep.
I woke up with tight arms around me. I was about to panic before I looked down and seen Embry sleeping peacefully. I sigh deeply and press a gentle kiss to his cheek, his presence instantly calmed me.
"You're awake. How are you feeling?" I heard a deep voice ask from the kitchen. I look up and seen Sam.
"I'm okay. A bit confused on why I'm here. Is Bella okay?" I answer.
"Carlisle thought this was the safest place for you and I haven't heard anything about Bella. Rosalie said she would call once they got rid of the problem," He explains to me.
"So, you know what they are?" I ask curiously.
He nods, "Yes, but Embry doesn't."
I nod and look down at my sleeping boyfriend. He looks so peaceful and I can't help but to love his innocence of this world.
He stirs underneath me and his eyes flutter open, "you're awake!"
"Shh, yes I am," I smile at him before pressing a kiss to his lips.
I spent the day with Embry at Sam and Emily's place. We still hadn't heard anything from Rosalie so Embry kept me distracted by teaching me how to play Call of Duty. I became good at it quickly and Paul came over to play with us. Sam was gone most of the day, I was unsure where he was.
Once the game had ended, I got up from my seat to sit on Embry's lap, just wanting to be closer to him even though I was originally sitting right next to him.
Paul groans, "you guys are so cute it's disgusting."
I giggle at him and Embry throws a pillow at his head, "stop being jealous."
Sam walks through the front door, "Maggie, it's Bella."

Okay cliffhanger time. This was also just a filler chapter mostly for the next part. I think I want to keep the timeline of Embry not transitioning until New Moon. what do you guys think?
