Broken Bella

Embry had insisted on coming to Phoenix with my dad and I. I gripped on his hand as we waited in the waiting room for Bella to wake up. Edward had never left her side while my dad and Renee took turns checking on them.

"She's awake," my dad says as soon as he walks into the waiting room. I nod and quickly stand.

"I'll be out here, love," Embry promises me. I give him a grateful look and walk to Bella's room.

Bella looks so fragile hooked up to machines and a cast on her leg. Edward was still in the room with her but Renee and Dad gave us privacy.

"Oh, Bella, you fool!" I cry to her as I hug her, careful not to hurt her.

"It's okay, Maggie. I promise I'm okay," She reassures me.

I look down at her as I wipe my tears, "I can't believe you would do something so dumb! I could have lost you!"

"I just wanted to protect my mom," she says as she grabs my hand. Rosalie had told me everything that happened when I arrived in Phoenix but not before I checked every Cullen for any injuries. Emmett had laughed at me for thinking they could get hurt, but I didn't care. I just wanted my family to be unharmed.

"Just promise me you won't ever do anything like that again," I say, holding up my pinky.

"I promise," she grabs my pinky with her own and we both kiss our hands. It was something we had been doing since we were kids.

I helped Bella get ready for her prom. She was healing nicely, but her leg was still in a cast. I have been helping her the best I could whenever Edward wasn't around to do it which was rare. Alice curled Bella's hair as I applied her makeup. She was wearing a blue dress with leggings underneath and a white cardigan.

"You look absolutely beautiful," I tell her as I press a kiss to her cheek.

"Thank you, Magnolia," Bella smiles up at me. Alice helps her up and we both lead her down the stairs. Edward is waiting in a tux next to dad while my beautiful boy is standing behind them.

Embry and I decided to have a movie night since we would not be attending the dance as I was only a sophomore. Once Bella and Edward were off as well as Alice, I took Embry's hand and practically dragged him to my room.

"Keep the door open some!" My dad calls after us.

"yes sir!" Embry calls back as he pushes me onto the bed gently and tackles me with kisses. I squeal as he leaves kisses all on my face while tickling my sides.

"This is so not fair, Em!" I squeal, "you're so much stronger than me"

His hands finally stop tickling my sides and I can catch my breath from laughing so hard.

"I am so sorry, darling. you're just so irresistible," he teases. "what are we watching tonight?"

I hit him with a pillow, "something spooky of course."

"not the Halloween movie again," He fake groans.

"I know you love this movie so hush!" I tell him as I turn on the movie. It was one of our go tos when we had movie nights. I would act scared and Embry would hold me tight even though we've seen this movie a hundred times. It was our own little tradition.

Embry lays back and I take my place by his side, wrapped in his arms. My head lays on his chest, listening to his heartbeat. These were the moments I lived for. I want nothing more than to spend the rest of my days with this boy. I only hope that doesn't change.

I couldn't help but run my hand down his chest and stomach, stopping just at the hem of his shirt. I could hear his heart beat a bit fast as I did and it put a smile on my face. His fingers went to play with my hair and he pressed a small kiss on the top of my head.

"I think I love you," I mumble softly.

"What?" he pushes us up to look at me.

"I said I love you," I answer, more sure now. I definitely love this boy.

"I love you too, Mags," He gives me a cheeky smile before grabbing my chin and pressing his lips to mine. He kisses me passionately and licks my bottom lip to ask for access. I instantly grant him it and feel his tongue explore my mouth. I fight for dominance against his but eventually give in. My hand goes to his hair to tangle my fingers in it while my other hand grips onto his shirt. He groans when I tug on his hair and gently pushes me on my back. He hovers over me, breaking the kiss only for a moment to look into my eyes. He attacks my lips once again with his. I lost myself in the kiss and let instincts take over. My hands roam his body, wanting to feel him close.

"You're so beautiful," He mumbles against my lips.

I woke up to a knock on my bedroom door. Embry was still under me with his arms wrapped tightly around me.

"Yeah?" I call out, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.

"I'm just leaving for work, Mags. Your sister is still sleeping. Don't do anything I wouldn't do today," My dad calls back to me.

"Alright, daddy. I love you, be safe," I answer, slowly unwrapping myself from Embry and getting up. I run to the door and place a kiss on my dad's cheek.

"Always," He replies before walking down the stairs.

My dad watched Embry grow up so I know he trusts him a lot more than Edward. It also doesn't help that Edward was the reason for Bella leaving Forks and getting injured.

"What time is it?" Embry says in a sleepy voice.

I check my phone, "eight."

"come back to bed for a bit," He mumbles, opening his arms wide for me to join him. I instantly accept his offer and go back to laying in his arms.
